Description

I have no right to be the one who makes you happy.

In the winter of his first year of high school, Nanase Aoi made the greatest confession of his life. His feelings were directed toward Orie Migiwa, the class representative who excelled academically. Migiwa was sociable, trusted by their classmates, and admired by many for her beauty, making her feel out of reach. From the moment Aoi saw Migiwa in the classroom on his first day of high school, his heart was stolen in an instant. In other words, it was love at first sight. At first, Aoi felt happy just being able to talk to her a little. But his growing feelings refused to stay contained, and at last, Aoi gathered what little courage he had and decided to confess. He felt light and unsteady, as if swept up in a fever, even though he barely knew anything about the person he had fallen in love with.

  1. Just finished reading the raw novel. So here are my thoughts on this novel:

Orie, a perfectionist student, pushes those around her to meet her high standards, while Aoi, a kind but overworked classmate, struggles to see his self-worth. Orie’s ego-driven behaviour and relentless pressure push Aoi to the brink of exhaustion, yet her intentions are not entirely malicious; she genuinely wants excellence and connection. Aoi quietly bears the burden, sometimes failing to speak up for himself, which allows the cycle of stress to continue.

When Aoi confesses to Orie, she accepts, but only as a trial relationship for 10 days, using a demerit system: any behaviour she finds “ick” costs him a point. At first, Orie wants to test Aoi, seeing how far he will go, and if he doesn’t break, she plans to shape him into the ideal, perfect boyfriend. Till the last day when he lost all the points and ran away and collapsed due to the pressure and stress.

I mean the novel is kinda good it's about a story about self-improvement, responsibility, and shaping oneself into a better person, even if the relationships themselves are messy and morally gray. It didn't have a happy nor sad ending which leaves a MMC to feel empty and kinda sad. Anyways Imma give it like a 7/10, good character and plot

Spoiler: They eventually get back together, but not in a fully healthy way. Aoi feels dissatisfied and conflicted maybe out of kindness or pity. Meanwhile, Ryo, who had been a significant presence in Aoi’s life, is left only with a bittersweet moment: she kisses Aoi while he sleeps, unresolved emotions because of guilt between all three characters.
