Chapter 262: Miyuki’s Conclusion
Miyuki’s Conclusion
Miyuki’s Perspective
I was summoned by the lawyer. This time, since I had been called as a witness in Senpai’s trial, I was there to receive an explanation.
“Why did you volunteer to testify? This could end up being unfavorable for you as well. You’re already involved in another trial, aren’t you? Your testimony here might hurt your position in that case too.”
When the prosecutors questioned me about Senpai’s case, they asked, “We want you to testify in court about whether the domestic violence that triggered this incident really happened, and what happened afterward.” I couldn’t respond. The thought of confessing my sins in a public setting more official than school terrified me.
I remember that day clearly. I was called into a conference room at the prosecutor’s office, where a female prosecutor raised the subject.
“To be honest, I know this sounds harsh. Witnesses, as a rule, cannot refuse. We could force you to testify if we had to… but among us there is debate about whether it is right to push someone your age, still a minor, that far. So first, I want to hear how you truly feel.”
Her words were firm and dignified, yet I could feel her concern for me.
“I just need to say the things that only I would know, right?”
My voice came out low and cold.
“That’s right. Most likely, only three people truly know what happened: Aono-kun, the victim; Kondo-kun, the perpetrator; and Amada-san, who was caught between them. And we believe you are the one who can testify the most objectively.”
In that moment I agonized over it. It would be a lie to say I never considered refusing. I was afraid my reputation would sink to the bottom. I was afraid of being the one to decide Kondo-senpai’s fate. And I was afraid of finally having to face the sins I had been running from.
But in that instant, I overcame it all. What came to mind were the faces of the Aono family and Eiji’s mother, who had always given me warmth.
“I understand.”
My voice trembled. Even so, those words finally came out. Words I should have spoken much earlier.
And then, standing in the courtroom, I fixed my eyes on Kondo-san, who was trembling.
“Wh-Why are you lying?”
He shouted. Lying. So that was the truth after all.
As he struggled, Senpai was restrained by several guards.
“It’s not a lie… I was told to make the lie real, suddenly given bruises, then had photos taken of them… before I knew it they were spread everywhere…”
I think he truly believed he could turn a lie into the truth. And in fact, his scheme had made the lie spread as if it were real. I had run away from it. I betrayed the person I loved, and on top of that, I committed the lowest act imaginable.
There is no way I could ever be forgiven for this. No way I should be forgiven.
But I could not let Eiji carry a false stain on his name any longer. That alone… I could not allow.
“Very well. Witness, one last confirmation. The perpetrator’s statement was false, correct?”
The judge’s words were gentle, yet piercing.
“It was false. He was lying the whole time. He is someone who kept trying to convince himself that his lies were the truth.”
It was a complete declaration of severance.
Kondo-san’s despairing face looked as if something inside him had shattered.
the chapter name is Miyuki conclusion so does that mean this is both miyubitch and condum end ? if it is that good i dont want a redemption arc for miyubich
ReplyDeleteThere’s gonna be a follow up next time, Kondo’s verdict, and considering what happened in court with his lies and his actions that led him there, he’ll probably get a lifetime sentence at most
DeleteDoes this redeem Miyuki? Not fully, but at least this time she’s making the right decision and not letting Kondo sway her
It's not like she could do anything else. There's tons of evidence against him. Miyuki supported Kondo when she thought they could get away with it, but she wouldn't give a cent for him under other conditions.
DeleteMaybe Eiji's mom won't make Miyuki's mom pay compensation but they'll still leave the "town". Maybe They'ill do it on their own and leave to give Eiji and his family peace. who knows man, it sucks to binge read a novel, catch up and then reading on chapter a week. Anyways thanks to the translator. All the best for him and everyone here.
DeleteIf Miyuki's mom and her just leave the town then i think thats the best ending for them
DeleteUh, no. It's more like her conclusion to stop protecting her own reputation and finally do what she should have done at the start. (And even before then, if we're going to be honest). Eiji and his Mother's faces in her minds eye are probably the final world shattering needed for her to nut up and bury this jackwagon in his lie, his ego, and his courtroom outburst.
DeleteAfter this, we have his verdict. . . and we still have Tachibana to go through, as well, and probably a bunch of her accomplices. And we still have Eri and her declaration of k*lling herself and Kondo - though that might end up coming as more of a footnote than a full-on chapter.
She cannot be fully redeemed, probably only enough she can live with herself and move on. She's forever lost Eiji, his Mother, a lot of her own mother's respect, the respect of everyone around her. I'm surprised she didn't suffer a complete mental collapse after learning Eiji was going to end his life over this all. . . and it probably wasn't even actually the bullying that drove him to that point, but Miyuki saying what she did, throwing those 10 years away. . . on the thought that "Oh, hey, we've known each other for 10 years, he'll forgive me for this!" - And then the reality slap across her face that, no, it doesn't work that way.
Well, she only told the truth cause she was found out. She said that what happened was just a 'High School Fling' and have Eiji take her back once That bastard graduate. F*ck it sounds disgusting if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, she thought that her disgusting actions and lies will disappear once that bastard kondo graduates.
DeleteMiyuki couldn't be more of a failure and a loser. As others have said, and reading this chapter, she's still feeling sorry for herself as if she were the victim. It's not for nothing that Ichijo Ai completely destroyed her and stole her place as Eiji's girlfriend (a faithful winner).
ReplyDeleteAt this point, she has no choice but to tell the truth, but she's incapable of processing her cowardice or publicly stating how the incident happened, nor of acknowledging her complicity in the harassment, whether through action or omission.
Also, it remains to be seen how the te BITCH of Tachibana fares at her trial. I hope she gets a worse punishment than Kondo for being a truly nefarius human being.
In my opinion Miyuki's story should end something like this (With time skip):
ReplyDelete1) The school decides to let her complete her studies from home/jail(?) until graduation.
2) Changes her apparence so people won't recognize her (Cuts/changes her hair, doesn't use make up, maybe wears fake glasses).
3) Changes her name and moves to another city or a diferent part of the same city, maybe with some help from Eiji's circle. I don't know how big the city is.
4) Works a part time job to get enough money to pay rent, buy food, etc.
5) Studies to become a teacher, being thankful with her teachers and the school for not abandoning her despite what she did, to prevent more students from being exposed to bullying and warning young girls not to fall prey of wicked guys.
6) She someday becomes the homeroom teacher of Eiji's and Ai's child and... does something good?... I don't know, my imagination ran out.
Of course she teaches in this same school trey're in now and GOAT sensei is the new principal/hearmaster/whatever (We know that's the idea)
When their child graduates Ai and Eiji acknowledge how much Miyuki has changed and she's finally able to forgive herself.
Extra - Eri and Miyuki never find love again since they can't open their hearts to people after what they did so they decide to live together and support each other in helping other people (Or you can imagine a heartbroken girls yuri romance, I don't care). Eri also becomes a teacher or a school nurse, I don't know.
Finally Eri's parents and Miyuki's mother are able to forgive their children and become slightly close again.
I feel sorry for Miyuki. I wish her ending wasn't 100% bad.
DeleteI think there could be a little more drama, but I want some happiness for her.
i'm a little late but your ideas are all good man, all the best for you and everyone here.
DeleteI like the idea of Miyuki getting some redemption.
ReplyDeleteI think she made a big mistake and deserved many of the horrible things that happened to her.
I hope most people understand that she was a victim of Kondo and Tachibanada.
She was targeted by a con artist. I agree that she could have done the right thing from the beginning, but the story implied that she was "played." Kondo manipulated her using guilt and desperation. Honestly, she probably wasn't the first "naive girl" to fall victim to a scoundrel, so I wish she didn't have a 100% bad ending.
Well, we know she isn't the first girl to fall victim. Tachibana seems to have had a problem with Endo at some point, too, though the hints are a little vague on it - Trashyb*tch seems to always been around when someone's getting bullied. Kuroi, Ai's P.I. drops that as a hint to Eri when asking her a few things, in exchange for getting her a chance to visit Kondo while he's in jail.
DeleteShe's followed Eiji more than once, and we know that. I'll have to re-read some more chapters, but I think it's Ai that comes the conclusion that Trashyb*tch always seems to be around like that, to the point of it being odd.
Re-reading some chapters, though, Miyuki isn't a b*tch. She's a teenager caught up in a whirlwind of emotions and confusion because a guy knows how to push a woman's buttons. Trashy wanted her ruined, too, eventually leading her to give Kondo access to the SNS chat (mentioned in Chapter 188), as a way to help Kondo corner Eiji to dishearten Miyuki more. Trashy despises Miyuki for getting in the way of her affection for Eiji, and she despises Eiji for rejecting her AND being a better novelist than her, and for some reason she hates Kondo, but not enough to not get a d*cking down from him. (Circa chapter 54, she calls him to come over).
We only have hints of the psychological manipulation Kondo has done, Eri is utterly screwed over by it. . . but then she didn't have Endo working from the shadows, Trashybana playing Connect Four and missing some very big clues things are going sideways, Satoshi and Ai becoming Eiji's foundations to hang on to, Kondo losing access to Miyuki (thanks to Endo) allowing Miyuki to get out of Kondo's talons of manipulation. I've re-read some chapters, I have a little more sympathy for Miyuki than I did on initial reading. I think a lot of the problem comes from the translations, something that means one thing might be translated into something else that isn't quite the same. She's a naive girl who's ONLY experience with love were only from one person she knew for 10 years, making him her only benchmark for a man in her life, which makes Kondo's manipulations ESPECIALLY effective. He constantly drilled it into her that Eiji failed as a man for not doing anything with her, using that to "conquer" her for himself, even in the first Chapter of the confrontation, it's *Kondo* saying all the bad things about Eiji, a manipulation tactic to get someone to bend to YOUR will. He's done more behind the scenes than we know, the manga might flesh it out more, but I doubt it, but he pulled her in, just like Eri, too deep and these two girls, with the experience of only having loved one person in their childhood and young adulthood, couldn't see a way out of it. Eri fell further and harder than Miyuki, though Eri is as remorseful as Miyuki, it's in the opposite direction. Miyuki DESPERATELY wants to apologize to Eiji and AT LEAST get back a little of what they had together, and for that, I'm for it. Eri wants to get out of life and take Kondo with her.
With such a disaster under her belt, Miyuki now knows what a good man actually is. . . and she's going to have a hard time finding love after any redemption arc, because *no one* is going to measure up to Eiji. 10 years with him, he was always there for her, never pushed her into anything she didn't want to do, and never used her. But men like Kondo are a dime a dozen, and she knows, once again, first hand how bad that is and not to go for it.
