Chapter 12: NTR Guy and Sister (2)

NTR Guy and Sister (2)

Kashiwagi Yuito sits back down, looking irritated.

I thought he was a more cunning man, but the way he’s about to approach me without even checking the cameras suggests he might actually be rather short-sighted.

However, that only makes me all the more disappointed in Yuna for falling for someone like him.

He must have some kind of agenda if he’s willing to hear me out, but honestly, I’ve already gotten the information I wanted, so I could just let him go. Still, I’ll at least do some damage control for Yuna on Yuki’s behalf.

“So, what about my junior, Rindo?”

“I’ll get straight to the point—what are you planning to do with Rindo-san?”

“I don’t know what you mean. Rindo is just a junior from my club. That’s all.”

“Sigh, you don’t have to play dumb. Rindo-san’s boyfriend—well, ex-boyfriend now—he’s my younger brother.”

“Pfft, so Rindo’s boyfriend was your little brother. My condolences. Sure, I flirted with her, but whether she took the bait or not was up to her. A decent woman wouldn’t cheat on her boyfriend. At least now you know her true nature.”

The man before me speaks without the slightest hint of guilt.

“I can’t argue with that. That’s exactly why I want to ask—are you actually going to date Rindo-san after this?”

“Obviously. That’s why I pursued her in the first place.”

“I see. Then that’s fine.”

Regardless of Kashiwagi’s character, as long as he actually intends to date her, I have no issue with it. If he were the type to just use and discard women, I would’ve taken a different approach.

“Huh? That’s it? I thought for sure you’d start complaining.”

“Why would I need to do that?”

“You care about Rindo at least a little, don’t you? Personally, I wouldn’t mind giving your brother his girlfriend back if you’re willing to take her place.”

I can only be astonished at how simplistic this man’s thinking is.

He even said it himself—Yuna made her own choice. No matter how foolish, she should take responsibility for it.

“You said it yourself. She made the final decision. If you dump her and she ends up regretting it, repenting, and has nowhere else to turn, then maybe I’ll lend a hand.”

“What a surprisingly cold woman.”

Kashiwagi’s response, as if this were someone else’s problem, irks me, but he won’t be able to act this carefree for long.

If what Kashiwagi said is true—that someone with the same face as Takato Mizuho is dead—then the person who has approached Yuki must be impersonating her.

If Yuki was the target, there’d be no need to go to such lengths.

And the timing—right after Yuna fell for Kashiwagi—suggests that Kashiwagi might also be under her surveillance.

In other words, if someone is willing to go this far, she isn’t a normal woman. It irritates me that Yuki got dragged into this, but if Kashiwagi is the target, then maybe this will be a good lesson for him.

Well, though it’s more likely to be a lethal one.

“What are you laughing at? You might look decent, but you’re really an unpleasant woman.”

“And you’re starting to let your mask slip.”

“Shut up. You’re not even part of the school anymore, so what gives you the right to act all high and mighty?”

“I only came to talk to you. Though it doesn’t seem like there’s much point in continuing.”

There’s nothing more to gain from talking to this man any further.

“So you’re just going to talk at me and leave? Damn! Women are all so selfish and self-centered.”

He completely ignores his own faults while blaming others.

“I don’t need to hear that from someone who preys on women to compensate for his own weakness.”

“Who are you calling weak? I just talked to them, and they misunderstood and betrayed their boyfriends on their own. Why should I be the one getting criticized?”

If he truly believes that, then he might not even be aware of his own nature.

“Have you ever pursued a woman who wasn’t already taken?”

“Hah? So what? Are you another naïve rich girl? Even in college and the workplace, there’ll be plenty of men who act nice with ulterior motives. Are all of them bad? It’s not like they’re married—what’s wrong with a guy flirting with a woman?”

Some women do believe that love is a battlefield where people fight to claim the ones they desire.

But this man before me lacks something fundamental.

“I see. It’s natural for both men and women to seek out romance. But you’re different. You don’t have any genuine feelings of love at all. That applies to Rindo-san as well—I can tell from our conversation.”

“Of course. Why would I ever fall for a woman who could so easily betray her own boyfriend?”

“Then why date her?”

“Isn’t it obvious? To make her suffer when we break up. I want to see her regret and cry over what she’s done.”

Hearing that, I finally understand. He’s just a petty man who enjoys taking revenge for his own past wounds.

He deliberately pursues women who already have boyfriends—because if they reject him, he has an easy excuse.

He chooses partners he can discard before being discarded himself.

It’s unfortunate that Yuna got caught up with such a shallow man. Even if I wanted to help, there’s nothing I can do for someone like her.

The best I can hope for is that she learns from this and improves her judgment in the future.

“I see. That’s enough. I doubt I’ll ever understand your values. Talking any further is just a waste of time.”

“Yeah, no kidding. I’ve never met a woman I was this incompatible with. I hope we never cross paths again.”

Kashiwagi storms out of the room, his voice tense with irritation, as if trying to escape.

I have no interest in associating with such a coward, but depending on Takato Mizuho’s actions, we may meet again.

More importantly, I need to investigate the woman who supposedly resembles the deceased Takato Mizuho.

I should never have gotten involved with Takato Mizuho. But now that I have, cutting ties completely might be even riskier.

That’s why I need to gather as much information as possible before meeting her face to face.

After calling Akari and thanking her for coming, I rushed home to begin my research.
