Chapter 125 Shopping for the Cultural Festival

Shopping for the Cultural Festival

Seira’s PoV

The afternoon of the day Seira was verbally abused by Mizuki and the others.

Even though classes were over, many students remained in the classroom.

With only two weeks left until the cultural festival, her classmates were busy with preparations.

(Everyone looks like they’re having fun.)

Meanwhile, Seira, feeling completely out of place, quietly packed up her things, preparing to leave alone.

“Hey, hey, Ito-san. You look kinda free, don’t you?”

A female student spoke to Seira in a condescending tone.

“Uh, y-yeah… I guess I am.”

Seira replied weakly, her voice trailing off. It had been so long since someone had spoken to her that she couldn’t hide her nervousness.

“I see. Then, could you go buy the supplies listed on this paper? I’ll give you the money. Oh, and make sure to get the receipt.”

The girl handed off the errand to Seira like it was nothing.

“Here’s the money for the supplies. Try to come back as soon as possible. And no detours, okay?”

She shoved a 1000-yen bill and a piece of paper into Seira’s hands before quickly walking away, rejoining her classmates, who were happily chatting as they worked on the festival preparations.

Seira was left standing there, alone.

(What should I do? I guess I have no choice but to go shopping by myself, huh?)

She glanced around, almost as if searching for help.

But no one even looked her way. No one moved to help. By now, her classmates had made it a habit to exclude her as much as possible.

Ever since the rumors about her affair with Ishii and betrayal had spread through the school, this was how things had been. Seira had been completely cast out.

“Sorry I’m late. I got caught up with some festival stuff.”

“Sorry, Sou-kun. I made you wait.”

“I caused trouble for you.”

Meanwhile, Haruki and the others entered Seira’s classroom, gathering around Sou’s desk.

“It’s totally fine. Don’t worry about it. Everyone’s been busy, right? It can’t be helped.”

Sou responded with an easygoing attitude—something Seira had never seen from him when they were dating.

Seira silently watched them. But no one even noticed her gaze.

After chatting for a while, Sou and the others left the classroom together—without so much as a glance in Seira’s direction.

(Amane-kun… Now that I’m in this situation, I finally understand. What I did was awful. So, even if I can’t be forgiven… I just want to apologize. I want to tell Amane-kun how I feel now.)

With tears welling in her eyes, Seira watched Sou’s back until he disappeared from sight.

But her feelings never reached him. Surrounded by Haruki and the others, he vanished from the classroom.

(I knew it… He won’t hear me…)

Feeling the weight of her sorrow, Seira slowly stood up. Clutching the paper and money she had been given earlier, she quietly left the classroom, looking utterly alone.
