Monday morning.

“…So that’s what happened. gulp …Ahh.”

“W-Well, how do I put this… That sounds like a lot, huh, Taiki?”

I was sitting on a bench at the university, drinking a can of coffee, and talking to my friend Yuuki Nagi 悠木凪 about the breakup I had with my girlfriend over the weekend.

Nagi is a tall, slender guy, standing at 175 centimeters. With his short black hair, sharp eyes, and androgynous good looks, he’s what you’d call a handsome man. On top of that, his personality is incredibly kind, making him almost too perfect.

He always dresses stylishly, and his handsome appearance combined with his kind personality makes him wildly popular with the girls at university. So popular, in fact, that calling him the most sought-after guy on campus wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

Apparently, the girls at university affectionately call him “Prince Charming.” Honestly, I’d love to have a nickname like that from a bunch of girls one day too.

I’ve been friends with Nagi, the so-called “Prince Charming,” since our first year at university. Even though we’re in different departments, we met during a welcome event for new students.

From that point on, we started talking more and more, and now, Nagi has become my closest male friend at university.

“I get why you’re upset, Taiki, but listen. Everyone, including me and your other friends, knows you’re a serious and kind guy. So instead of staying angry, you should just move on and focus on what’s ahead. No matter what happens, your friends and I will always have your back.”

When I said that, Nagi responded with a gentle smile. His smile was so handsome it could make any girl fall for him instantly.

“Alright, I’ll try my best to move on as quickly as possible, just like you suggested. But since I just broke up with her, you’ve got to take care of this broken-hearted guy for a while, okay?”

“Of course. Whether it’s drinking, hanging out, or whatever you want to do, I’ll always be there for you. So don’t hesitate to count on me anytime, alright?”

“That’s such a relief to hear. Haha. Seriously, Nagi, you’re like the perfect friend. You listen to my rants without complaining, and you’re always willing to hang out whenever I need it. You’re such a good guy.”

“Well, you’re one of my closest friends, Taiki. I’ll always do whatever I can for my friends. So cheer up soon, okay? I like seeing the usual upbeat Taiki.”

“Nagi… Seriously, man, you’re way too good. No wonder all the girls are head over heels for you!”

“Haha, thanks. But hey, Taiki, you can fall for me anytime too, you know?”

“Ahaha, if I were a girl, I’d have confessed to you already. It’s a bit of a shame, honestly.”

And so, laughing together, Nagi and I kept trading light-hearted jabs.
