Chapter 16 Nami-san Harassed by Troublesome Male Customers

Nami-san Harassed by Troublesome Male Customers

Not long after that…

“That will be 700 yen. Yes, that’s the exact amount. Thank you very much.”

After finishing my tea and taking a break, I went to the counter to pay. Nami-san was handling the checkout.

“Thank you! The tea was absolutely delicious.”

“Fufu, I’m glad to hear that. The tea leaves are handpicked daily by our manager, so the recommended tea changes every day. Please feel free to come back and try another one!”

“Wow, that’s impressive! Alright, next time, I’ll bring Nagi along, and we’ll come together!”

“Eh? Ah, no, that’s… Having my brother come would be a bit embarrassing. If you could spare me that, I’d really appreciate it…”

“Ah, I see. It makes sense—having family see you at work is a bit awkward. Alright, I’ll come alone next time!”

“Excuse meee! Hey, Miss, can we order nowww!”

“Yes, right away. Fufu, I’ll look forward to your next visit. Thank you very much!”

With that, Nami-san elegantly held the hem of her skirt and bowed gracefully. Watching her, I couldn’t help but think she truly looked like a real-life maid.

(Alright, I’ll definitely visit this café again soon!)

Feeling satisfied, I tucked my wallet into my pocket and headed toward the door. But just as I was about to leave…

“P-Please… stop…”

“Huh?”

I heard Nami-san’s distressed voice from inside. It seemed like she’d gone to take a customer’s order, but… was something wrong?

Concerned, I turned back toward the café.

“Wow, Onee-san, you’re gorgeous. Are you looking for a boyfriend? Why not give me your number?”

“I-I’m sorry, but I can’t share personal information…”

“Ahaha, don’t be so stiff. Let’s go to karaoke together after this!”

Nami-san was being harassed by two annoying male customers. With her beauty, she probably dealt with customers like this all the time…

(But this isn’t the time to just stand here analyzing the situation. I need to step in.)

“Hey, come on. It’ll be fun, right? Just give me your number. After your shift, let’s hang out!”

“I-I’m telling you, I can’t do that…”

“What? Why not? We’re customers, you know. Isn’t the customer supposed to be king?”

“Yeah! As customers, our requests should be respected. Isn’t that right, Onee-san? Haha!”

“Excuse me, you two—”

“Haha—huh?”

“Eh? T-Taiki…kun?”

I walked over to the two men and spoke up. They seemed quite young, likely younger than me.

As I calmly assessed the situation, one of the men looked at me with suspicion.

“Huh? Who the hell are you?”

“Look, we’re not interested in you, alright? We’re busy here, so back off.”

“The staff member clearly looks uncomfortable. Don’t you think you should stop?”

“What? Shut up, man. You’re in the way—get lost already.”

“Sorry, but leaving isn’t an option. If anything, it’s you two causing trouble for the shop.”

“What the hell are you talking about? Who do you think you are? We’re customers!”

One of the men shouted, his glare full of irritation.

“Customer or not, there are basic rules of behavior. There are other patrons here, so your actions are disruptive. Or would you rather I call the police? Trust me, that’s not a good idea—it’d cause trouble for your families too, wouldn’t it?”

Despite their shouting, I stayed calm, meeting their anger with a steady gaze. My response seemed to catch them off guard.

“W-What do you mean by ‘not a good idea’?”

“Well, you see… I have connections to handle situations like this.”

“W-What… what are you talking about?”

I pulled out a business card from my wallet—not mine, but one from a lawyer affiliated with Nanami’s modeling agency.

Thanks to Nanami’s antics, I’d had several brushes with the police. During one of those incidents, I’d been handed this card by the agency’s lawyer. Now, it was coming in handy.

“W-Wait… are you a lawyer?”

“That’s right. So, what will it be? If you keep causing trouble, I can file a lawsuit for business disruption. But I imagine your parents wouldn’t be thrilled to hear about that.”

With a serious expression, I continued bluffing the men.

Of course, I wasn’t a lawyer—just a regular university student. But dealing with Nanami had toughened me up considerably.

The guys were younger than me, so as long as I acted confidently, I was sure they’d believe me. And just as I’d hoped…

“Ugh… W-Wait, no, that’d be… really bad.”

“A-Alright, we get it. We were wrong. We’ll leave now. Just please, don’t escalate this…”

“Thank you. Please be careful on your way out.”

My bluff worked like a charm. The two male customers, looking thoroughly deflated, left the café without further incident.

Well, at least it all ended peacefully.
