Chapter 13 Hearing a Story From a Friend (Nanami's Perspective)
Hearing a Story From a Friend (Nanami’s Perspective)
One day.
I was out shopping with my model friend, Aoki Yuka 青木 優香. As we headed to the next store, Yuka suddenly brought up something unexpected.
“Oh, by the way, Nanami, have you heard?”
“Eh? Heard what?”
“Judging by your reaction, I guess you haven’t. You know Kururugi Kento 枢木健人, right? That super handsome guy in our modeling circle?”
“…Ah, yeah. I vaguely remember him. What about him?”
Hearing the name “Kento” made me want to grimace, but I managed to keep my expression neutral as I replied.
“Well, I heard he got stabbed by a girl.”
“Eh… What? Wait, what!? Stabbed!? How!? Why!?”
“Apparently, it was over some kind of love affair. That guy’s been fooling around with tons of girls, and one of them found out. She got so mad that she stabbed him with a kitchen knife.”
“Eh… seriously!?”
Yuka’s words left me stunned. But not because I was worried about him getting stabbed.
(That jerk… He was messing around with other girls too? What a complete piece of trash!!)
As it hit me that he’d been fooling around with other women, anger started to bubble up inside me. There’s no way I’d ever forgive that sc_um_bag.
“W-What’s wrong, Nanami? Your face looks scary.”
“Eh? Oh, no, it’s nothing. I’m just shocked to learn there was such a disgusting enemy of women so close to us.”
“Ah, I see. Yeah, he really is the enemy of women, isn’t he?”
“Absolutely. By the way, do you know how bad his injuries are? Is it serious?”
“Apparently, his life isn’t in danger. But his SNS accounts are getting flooded with hate, so it sounds like his career might be in trouble. Scandals like this are a death sentence in this industry.”
“I see… Well, that’s only fair. Honestly, I wish he’d just retire and move back to the countryside.”
“Haha, Nanami, you’re harsh. But yeah, he’s had bad rumors surrounding him for ages. Maybe this is karma catching up to him.”
“Yeah, totally… Wait, bad rumors? Are you saying his reputation in the industry was always this bad?”
“Oh, absolutely. He’s always been known for being awful with women—he’d immediately go after any girl who seemed easy to manipulate. That’s just the kind of guy he’s always been.”
“E-Easy to manipulate!? That jerk… He’s seriously the worst!”
My anger skyrocketed as I listened. To think he was such a pathetic excuse for a human being. Honestly, getting stabbed felt like poetic justice.
“W-What’s wrong, Nanami? Your face looks really scary again.”
“Eh? Oh, no, it’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
“O-Okay? If you say so…”
“Yeah, thanks, Yuka.”
I brushed it off with a quick response. There’s no way I’d let anyone find out I’d ever had a physical relationship with that jerk. I had to keep it hidden no matter what.
(Sigh… What do I do now?)
I’d been so excited at the thought of landing a handsome boyfriend, and now it was all ruined.
On top of that, I’d even dumped my “convenient housekeeper” to make it happen… What a complete waste.
(…Well, whatever.)
I mean, I’ve got the looks, the body, and the personality—everything about me is perfect!
There are still plenty of high-spec guys who’d die to be with someone as amazing as me!
And to find the perfect guy worthy of me, I’ll keep going to mixers, clubs, and host bars. I’ll explore every avenue and deepen my connections with lots of guys!
