Chapter 1 Witnessing My Childhood Friend Girlfriend Entering a Love Hotel With a Handsome Guy
#OtokotomodachiWitnessing My Childhood Friend Girlfriend Entering a Love Hotel With a Handsome Guy
It was a Saturday afternoon.
I had been shopping at a station in the city center. It didn’t take long, so I wrapped up quickly. But then…
“…Huh?”
On my way back, I happened to see my girlfriend, Sera Nanami, walking arm-in-arm with a flashy-looking handsome guy.
(W-What the hell is that?!)
From the outside, it looked like Nanami and that guy were enjoying a fun date. But I’m Nanami’s boyfriend—not some flashy guy like him.
(I should probably take a photo of this, just in case…)
―Snap
Confused and shaken, I still managed to snap a clear photo of them, smiling as they walked arm-in-arm. Then, I decided to follow and observe them. And then…
(Wha—huh? Wait, what?! They just went into a love hotel!?)
There was no mistaking it—I had just caught them red-handed.
I never imagined I’d discover my girlfriend’s affair like this on a weekend, but I wasn’t bold enough to barge into a love hotel to confront them.
Besides, causing a scene would only disturb the other guests.
(I guess I’ll have to ask Nanami about this tomorrow…)
With that, I slipped my phone back into my pocket and decided to head home.
My name is Kurase Taiki 倉瀬大樹. I’m a 20-year-old second-year university student.
I have an average appearance. I’m mild-mannered and sociable, so I think I have a decent number of friends. I’m just a typical university student with no particularly outstanding traits.
That said, I do have a girlfriend I’ve been dating since middle school.
Her name is Sera Nanami 世良菜々美. She’s also 20 and a second-year university student. She’s beautiful, has a great figure, and has been working as a fashion model since high school.
Even now, she balances university life with her modeling career. She’s incredible. After graduation, she plans to focus on modeling full-time and already has several major projects lined up.
I first met Nanami back in elementary school. She was adorable even then, but unlike now, she was very quiet and shy.
Because of her personality, Nanami didn’t have many friends and often spent her time alone in the school library, engrossed in books.
Coincidentally, I also loved reading as a kid and was a frequent visitor to the library.
That’s how we ended up spending a lot of time reading together. Over time, we began talking more and gradually grew closer.
After a long friendship, I finally worked up the courage to confess my feelings to Nanami during our second year of middle school. She happily accepted my confession.
Since then, we’ve gone on countless dates, studied together, played games, attended cultural festivals, and enjoyed countless moments as a couple.
Nanami, who had always been shy and reserved, gradually became brighter and more outgoing as we spent more time together. She started smiling more and interacting with others.
By the time we entered high school, Nanami’s cheerful personality and natural beauty made her incredibly popular with the boys.
Around then, she was scouted by a modeling agency in the city and began working as a fashion model.
As her boyfriend, I was proud of her growing popularity, but I couldn’t help feeling anxious about someone taking her away from me.
Despite her rising popularity, Nanami stayed as kind as ever and always cherished me as her boyfriend.
In return, I valued her deeply and fully supported her modeling career.
However, about three years ago, during the fall of our second year in high school, something changed.
That was when Nanami’s parents were transferred overseas for work. Since she had her modeling career, she decided to stay behind and began living alone in her family home.
From that point on, her behavior began to change gradually.
For someone as disciplined as Nanami, the freedom of living alone for the first time must have been exhilarating.
No rules, no scolding from her parents—it must have felt liberating, and it clearly lifted her spirits.
She started hanging out with a variety of people much more often—school friends, work colleagues, and others.
Without her parents around, there were no curfews, and she began staying out late and even going on overnight trips.
I warned her multiple times that it wasn’t okay, but she stopped listening to me completely.
As a result, she spent her days playing late into the night with different people, and her once-kind personality slowly turned selfish and self-centered.
