Chapter 22 NTR Guy, Mocked by Teammates
#Rabu Kome ga HajimattaNTR Guy, Mocked by Teammates
The location was a small conference room inside the soccer team’s office.
Through the window, the practice field was visible, and players could be seen sweating as they trained.
The team’s coach and manager were having a conversation there.
The manager frowned and spoke to the coach with a stern expression.
“About Akagi. Honestly, his recent attitude and performance have been far too problematic. Even in the last match, his selfish play stood out. It’s clear he’s disrupting the team’s cohesion.”
The coach nodded in agreement.
“You’re right. His behavior and playstyle have been a major disadvantage to the team.”
After a moment of silence, the manager took a deep breath.
“As things stand, having him on the team is detrimental to the other players. Maybe he needs to experience failure here and develop some mental growth.”
The coach nodded again, showing his agreement.
“Yes, let’s demote Akagi from the A team to the B team. It’ll also give him an opportunity to reflect and grow in a new environment.”
“Exactly. I want him to walk the right path. Let’s make him start over with the basics in the B team. If he can’t handle that, his future in soccer is grim anyway.”
With that, the manager and coach finalized their decision.
Akagi’s PoV
During practice, I was rolling the ball at my feet, trying to make adjustments. No matter how many times I tried to dribble, shoot, or pass, nothing was going the way I wanted. I could feel my performance slipping.
“Everything’s falling apart…”
I muttered softly, letting out a heavy sigh.
Suddenly, I looked down at the ball and kicked it in frustration, but the irritation only grew.
Since that match, everything had been falling apart for me.
Recently, I’ve not only been unsatisfied with my play but have also been making more mistakes during training. My coordination with my teammates has been a mess.
Today again, the coach repeatedly pointed out my errors, and each time, the stares from my teammates felt like daggers.
Why is nothing working anymore? I kept asking myself, but no answers came.
Taking another deep breath, I kicked the ball again. The sound of the ball hitting the net, which usually felt satisfying, now just felt hollow.
Just then, someone called out to me.
“Akagi, are you okay?”
The person speaking was Saito (斎藤) from the B team. Since he’s always been on the B team, we didn’t really know each other.
“I’m fine.”
Don’t talk to me, you B team trash.
Just being in the B team is enough to deserve disdain. Naturally, I looked down on him.
“I see. Well, if something’s wrong, feel free to talk to me.”
“Shut up… You wouldn’t understand how I feel!”
“…That’s not how you talk to someone.”
Saito was taken aback by my words but left shortly after.
That’s how it should be…
Trash like him shouldn’t talk to me.
Honestly, it’s just a waste of time—
After practice, I returned to the locker room, where the usual member rotations were listed on the whiteboard. The team regularly rotated members. The A team was essentially the first team, and the B team the second. Ever since joining the youth team, I, a genius, had always been in the A team.
Casually, as always, I glanced at the list. But the moment I saw it, my heart froze.
Because—
Akagi Renji, A to B team [demoted].
Saito Takashi, B to A team [promoted].
That’s what was written.
The moment I saw this, my mind went completely blank.
Around me, the other members also noticed the board, and a murmur spread.
“Seriously? Akagi’s demoted to the B team?”
“And that Saito got promoted to the A team? That’s amazing.”
My teammates’ voices sounded like they were coming from far away.
“I got demoted to the B team? You’ve got to be kidding me!”
Overwhelmed by anger, I shouted unintentionally.
At that, the room instantly froze, and everyone turned to look at me.
My face must have been a mix of anger and confusion, as no one said a word.
But even shouting didn’t ease my rage.
“Why… What did I do to deserve this?”
I pointed at the whiteboard, raising my voice even more.
“Calm down, Akagi. Saito, say something!”
When I looked at Saito, our eyes met.
He was standing there with a cold smile.
“How pathetic, Akagi.”
“…What?”
My voice rose in anger, but Saito remained unshaken, almost as if he was enjoying himself.
“Honestly, I was surprised when I heard I was moving to the A team. But you being demoted to the B team? That makes sense. I’ve been working hard all this time, while you’ve just been sitting on your talent. In the end, you got what you deserved, didn’t you?”
Saito’s words were sharp, cutting deep into me.
I was at a loss for words. Normally, I would’ve fired back immediately, but given my current situation, I couldn’t say a thing. I’d been demoted from the A team to the B team, and now I was hearing this from someone I’d always looked down on. My pride had hit rock bottom.
“No matter how much you protest, I’m above you now. Accept it and start over. You used to look down on me, but the tables have turned, haven’t they, Akagi?”
Shut up… Shut up… Shut up…!!!
In the end, Saito said his piece and left.
Anger boiled within me—not just at Saito’s words but at my inability to respond. After he left, I was left sitting there alone, consumed by anger, frustration, and regret over my immaturity. Maybe I don’t have what it takes to play soccer after all.
Maybe I was just a precocious talent relying on my natural physical abilities.
Doubts I’d never even considered before began creeping into my mind.
