Chapter 19 NTR Guy, Gets Mocked by a Vlogger

NTR Guy, Gets Mocked by a Vlogger

Akagi’s PoV

You’re benching me in the first half? Are you out of your mind, old man?

“Asano, replace Akagi in the second half.”

Asano 浅野 froze in surprise for a moment but quickly stood up and responded confidently.

He’s a promising younger player in the same position as me.

If this continues, the hierarchy might shift.

Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn…

I don’t remember anything from the strategy meeting after the first half.

No surprise, considering my frustration and irritation had reached their peak.

Soon, the players left the locker room for the second half.

I stayed seated on the bench, unmoving, until I was left alone.

“Damn it!”

I kicked the bottle in front of me with all my might.

After the match, when I returned to my hotel room, a wave of fatigue enveloped me. After taking a shower, I collapsed onto the bed and slumped over.

Thanks to Asano, who replaced me and scored two goals, the team managed to beat the U.S. national team.

I couldn’t bring myself to watch the match and only heard about the result later from my teammates, leaving me with mixed feelings.

What’s the point of a match where I’m not the main character?

As I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, memories of my incompetence and inability to control my emotions came flooding back.

It’s not my fault…

While absentmindedly scrolling on my phone, I noticed a NouTube recommendation. It was a highlight video uploaded by a soccer Vlogger who had live-streamed today’s match.

I tapped the screen, and the video began to play.

It was right at the start of the second half.

[Wait, they’re subbing out Akagi, the forward? Dropping him this quickly? Well, he was completely out of sync today.]

Who the hell are you calling “out of sync”?

A mere Vlogger dares to mock me…

As I watched the video, the Vlogger highlighted a comment from the livestream.

[“By the way, wasn’t Akagi recently exposed by an idol for sending hookup DMs? He got roasted for that, right?” Oh yeah, that did happen. It shows, doesn’t it? Your personal behavior reflects in your play. A guy who’s reckless in his private life will be reckless on the field too.]

The Vlogger piled on, spurred by the comment section.

Damn, damn, damn, damn.

If you’ve got a problem, say it to my face.

If you were in front of me, I’d beat the crap out of you…

[I guess he was just a flash in the pan. Happens to a lot of athletes.]

The Vlogger wrapped up the video with that comment.

How dare that amateur Vlogger act so full of himself…

Despite only making sloppy commentary, his clip video had over 30,000 subscribers. It’s easy to imagine his main channel had far surpassed 100,000.

I scrolled through the comments section of the trending video.

[Asano was insane!]

[He’s got to be the strongest striker now, LOL.]

The comments were flooded with praise for Asano, who had replaced me.

Meanwhile, some comments about me were also there.

[Akagi was terrible.]

[How is someone like him on the national team?]

[Washed up. Should just quit soccer already.]

Criticism after criticism.

Are they seriously saying that I, Akagi, am worse than the younger Asano!?

“Bullshit!”

I slammed my phone against the bed with all my strength.

Damn it, screw you…

Maybe my powerlessness is because I haven’t been with a girl since starting rehab.

Whatever.

I’ll make sure to pay them back someday…

Just wait and see, you blind fools.
