Chapter 99 Let the Battle Begin!
#Ikemen no Bishoujo TomodachiLet the Battle Begin!
“So what Haruki-chan is saying is that we’re going to make breakfast for Sou-kun and see who can satisfy him the most, right? Am I right?”
Mizuki rephrased Haruki’s words in a simpler way.
“Yes, that’s right. We’ll let Sou decide whose breakfast is the most delicious and satisfying. Any objections?”
Haruki looked at Mizuki and Manami as if to confirm. Of course, their gazes met after a moment.
“Okay, let’s do it. I was hoping that Sou-kun would eat the homemade food I made with all my love anyway.”
“Y-yeah, me too. I’ll make some too. I won’t lose to Haru-cchi or Mizu-cchi. Definitely.”
Mizuki and Manami expressed their determination to win and challenged Haruki’s confident attitude. Neither of them seemed to have any intention of losing.
“Fufufu. You seem eager. But I won’t lose. Cooking is my specialty. I won’t give in.”
Haruki maintained her confident stance without wavering. Her confidence was palpable, and even Sou could feel it. She seemed to have unshakable self-confidence.
“It is true that Haruki-chan is good at cooking. I definitely think her cooking skills are higher than mine. But cooking isn’t just about skill. It’s possible that the feelings you put into the food surpass the skill. I’ll never lose to Haruki-chan or Manami-chan when it comes to feelings. I’ll definitely win Sou-kun’s heart and stomach with my loving cooking.”
“Ho? Your motivation and hostility are enough. A battle of skills and emotions, huh? That’s interesting. But I’ll tell you one thing. I won’t lose to you because of my feelings for Sou either. Keep that in mind, Mizuki.”
“Really? I think my feelings for Sou-kun are hotter and stronger than you can imagine, Haruki-chan.”
“Haha. Maybe. But I’m still better.”
“Fufufu. That’s funny.”
“You too, Mizuki.”
Crackle, crackle.
The lightning glances of Haruki with a slight smile and Mizuki with a full smile (her eyes weren’t smiling) collided and created fierce sparks. An atmosphere was created between them that no one could enter.
Feeling intimidated, Manami couldn’t take part in the preliminary fight between Haruki and Mizuki. She could only watch silently as things unfolded. She was completely behind.
“So, shall we start? And before we start, I have to ask Sou one thing. Okay?”
Taking her eyes off Mizuki, Haruki turned her attention to Sou. The fiery exchange of glances was temporarily interrupted.
“Eh? Me?”
Surprised by the sudden nomination, Sou unconsciously pointed at herself.
“Yes. Sorry to put the responsibility on you, but I want you to decide the theme for the breakfast battle. Anything is fine. It doesn’t have to be a traditional breakfast menu. Just decide what you want to eat as the theme. We’ll just follow your lead.”
Sou was suddenly given a big role. He had never thought about choosing a theme.
“Eh, me? It’s hard when you say it so suddenly….”
Sou scratched his chin and thought seriously, his head shaking. Deciding on a theme was quite difficult. It wasn’t something that came easily to him.
“Umm… I think I want Onigiri right now….”
Sou murmured his wish to himself. It was a rather small voice, but….
Of course, Haruki and the others heard it.
“Did you hear that? Sou wants Onigiri for breakfast. The theme is onigiri. No complaints, right?”
“Of course not.”
“That’s impossible!”
Haruki’s words acted as a catalyst, and all three of them moved towards the kitchen at the same time.
They were incredibly fast.
Haruki was the first to reach the refrigerator. With a practiced hand (even though it was Sou’s home refrigerator), she opened the top shelf. She looked at the contents. After a few seconds, she opened the second shelf where the vegetables were. She looked at the contents in the same way.
“Un. There’s not much food! I’ll go shopping.”
