Chapter 10 The Moment Something Changed
#Ore ni Tsumetai TsumaThe Moment Something Changed
“…Nnn…nn…?”
My heavy eyelids suddenly opened.
Forcing my unusually heavy body to sit up, I looked around.
It seemed to be a rather fancy bedroom, with pink wallpaper.
Apparently, I was asleep in bed.
“Where am I…?”
A little confused by the unfamiliar room, I tried to remember what had happened.
“Ah, that’s right…I remember visiting Mishi-san’s room…She treated me to cookies and tea….”
But my memory stops there. I don’t remember what happened after that. But since I don’t remember moving, this must be Mishi-san’s bedroom.
“Eh…?”
Suspecting something, I quickly turned my attention to my own body.
However, I was properly dressed, and there were no signs of disarray.
In other words, I didn’t seem to have crossed the line with her.
“Phew… Now that’s a relief.”
I breathed a sigh of relief.
However, it was pathetic of me to fall asleep in the room of a member of the opposite s🬀x, even when I was full.
Looking at the clock, it seemed like about two hours had passed since I had visited Mishi-san’s room.
I was relieved that I hadn’t been unconscious for that long.
“Hmm…?”
My right hand touched something soft, and I quickly looked at it. Mishi-san was sleeping next to me.
That soft thing just now… No, let’s not think about that.
More than anything else, the blood drained from my face. My face is probably as pale as a sheet right now.
“Wait… Our clothes are fine, right? But what if we did something and I don’t remember? I mean, how could we even…?”
I wondered for a moment, but it seemed like an unnecessary worry.
That’s because Mishi-san’s clothes weren’t messed up either. We hadn’t crossed the line.
She just seemed to be sleeping with a happy expression on her face.
“…She’s cute.”
I mumbled subconsciously.
I’ve seen Rina’s sleeping face many times, but since Mishi-san is beautiful, her sleeping face looks cute, too.
No, it’s rude to compare them. No, compared to Rina, Mishi-san is definitely much cuter.
“…Nnn…nn…?”
As I stared at her, Mishi-san’s eyelids slowly opened.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes with her fingers, Mishi-san looked at me.
“Ah… Good morning, Ucchi….”
“G-…! Oh, ah… Good morning.”
Feeling my face getting hot from her incredibly cute sleepy face, I quickly looked away and replied.
It felt like it had been a long time since I had heard “good morning." It made me strangely happy.
No, more than that, what is this…?
I felt strangely aware of Mishi-san.
I had never felt like this before….
“Nn…! Oh, sorry? You fell asleep, so I carried you to my bedroom.”
“T-That’s kind of you, but… wasn’t I heavy?”
“No, not really? I’m surprisingly strong, you know! But I fell asleep, too.”
Mishi-san giggled awkwardly.
Her smile is so cute that it makes my heart pound.
Why am I so aware of her?
“I’m sorry for being a nuisance…!”
“Oh, don’t apologize! I fell asleep too, so we’re even! Right?”
“Y-Yes….”
We stared at each other on the bed.
But feeling embarrassed, I quickly got up from the bed.
“I-I should probably go home now…!”
“Eh, you don’t have to go home yet. …Why don’t you stay the night?”
“N-No…That is a bit much….”
Even though I went this far, I felt like it was a no-go.
Besides, I can’t rely on her that much.
I prepared to go home and bow to Mishi-san, who followed me to the entrance.
“Thank you, Mishi-san. Thanks to you, I feel refreshed. My head feels clear.”
“Really? I’m glad I could help!”
Yes, my mind is surprisingly clear right now.
That’s strange; I wasn’t like this before I went to sleep.
I was so overwhelmed by all the insults Rina threw at me that I couldn’t think straight, but now I can calmly think about what I should do.
Is it because I got a good sleep?
Or maybe it’s thanks to Mishi-san?
No…probably both.
Thinking about it, my lips naturally curled into a smile.
“This is the first time I’ve seen you smile in a long time!”
“Really? Maybe.”
I was so beaten down by Rina’s constant insults that I couldn’t even muster a smile.
That’s right, because of that woman, I’ve been so bullied lately that I can’t even smile. What a joke. What’s with the marriage and the kissing vow?
Eh…wait? What was I thinking…?
“What’s wrong? Shouldn’t you be resting more?”
“Oh, no…I’m fine.”
“Really? If you say so….”
I’ve rested more than enough.
I can’t be a burden anymore.
“I will be sure to repay this kindness. Well, see you at work. Thank you, Mishi-san.”
“Un! See you later, Ucchi! …Fufufu, I’m glad it went well.”
“Eh…?”
Just as the front door closed, Mishi-san’s face seemed to have a strange smile on it as she muttered something softly.
…Was it my imagination? Well, whatever. It must have been my imagination.
Let’s go home quickly, take a shower, and go to sleep.
“All right, let’s go home!”
I walked home more cheerful than ever.
