Cold Response

“Wait, can’t you wait a minute? Isn’t that a little cold?”

It was probably an unexpected response. After exchanging just one word, Haruki ended the conversation on her own and walked past him, so Fujita called out to her in an agitated tone.

“…What!? I thought we were done talking.”

Haruki stopped walking, frowned in annoyance, and slowly turned around.

“Eh!? …Can you please not end the conversation on your own? There’s more to come.”

For a moment, he looked surprised, but he quickly wiped it away, put on his usual smile, and spoke words meant to warn her. He might’ve been a little annoyed.

“Really? Sorry, but I have no intention of hearing any more.”

Without any sign of remorse or apology, Haruki conveys her feelings without hiding anything. There is no hesitation at all.

“What!? Aren’t you being too rude? You end the conversation on your own and say you don’t want to hear it anymore. I don’t think that’s the way to be with someone you’re talking to for the first time. Am I saying something wrong?”

With the veins bulging on his forehead, Fujita keeps a stiff smile on his face to hide the emotions raging inside him and asks Haruki a question. It’s probably an action to make Haruki realize how rude she is.

“Who cares? Besides, I would never do that to a normal person. I’ll be a little better about my attitude, but not to you.”

Haruki replies without hesitation in a calm tone.

“That’s a meaningful word. Why only me? I want to hear it.”

Why is she so cold? Fujita asks the reason at the last moment.

“The reason? It’s a hassle, but I’ll tell you. Sou has been acting strangely since the first day you transferred here. I mean that in a bad way, of course. That’s why I don’t like you and don’t want to talk to you. It pisses me off.”

Narrowing her eyes at Fujita, Haruki explains the reason for his question.

“Is that enough? I want to be with Sou soon. I’m forced to finish this conversation. Don’t interfere anymore, okay? That includes Sou, of course. If you want to b🬀lly other boys, go ahead. B🬀lly them as much as you want. But not Sou.”

After spitting out these words, Haruki cut off her gaze without waiting for Fujita’s answer and entered class 2-6.

There was no reaction.

Were Haruki’s words too shocking? Or was he unable to accept reality?

We were not sure what he really felt, but Fujita remained stunned with his mouth half open.

In Fujita’s field of vision, he saw Haruki running to Sou’s seat.

Mizuki was already at his side. Of course, this sight must’ve caught Fujita’s eye.
