Chapter 61 The Past Revealed

The Past Revealed

“…”

Lunch break. Before Haruki and Mizuki arrive, Sou sneaks out of class 2-6.

He doesn’t go to the cafeteria or the bathroom but to the rooftop.

He doesn’t feel like having lunch. Just thinking about when he might be targeted by Fujita makes him feel depressed. He couldn’t calm down.

He climbed many flights of stairs without carrying anything and with great anxiety. Finally, he reaches the entrance to the rooftop.

He silently turns the doorknob and steps out onto the rooftop. The moment he opens the door, the open air of the rooftop rushes over Sou. The wind pressure is quite strong.

A green fence surrounds the room with a silver floor. This is the rooftop.

He walks silently across the rooftop without saying anything in particular.

He reaches the end of the rooftop and looks at the view from the green fence. A view he would never normally be able to see unfolds before his eyes. All the buildings look tiny from the rooftop.

If the buildings are so small, the people are even smaller. Thinking about it makes him feel strangely empty.

“Sigh. What am I doing?”

Taking his eyes off the spectacular view that would normally attract him, Sou sighed helplessly. He feels sick thinking about his future at school. This is all because of Fujita. If only he did not exist, everything would be fine. That’s how annoying Fujita was for Sou.

“Who’s there? Could it be Amanecchi?”

Then he hears a familiar voice behind him. He knows who it is just by hearing the voice.

“Miyagi-san.”

He turns and calls out the name of the person standing at the entrance to the rooftop. Her tanned skin is as beautiful as ever. In addition, the top two buttons of her shirt are undone, revealing her tanned cleavage.

“What’s wrong? Aren’t you with Harucchi and Mizucchi today?”

“No. Sorry to them, but I’m not in the mood.”

Sou replies uncomfortably.

It took a lot of courage to tell Haruki and Mizuki’s friend how he felt at this moment. He was also aware that he might’ve said something that would give a bad impression.

But somehow, he didn’t want to lie.

“Could it be…that Fujita?”

Just saying the word Fujita makes Manami’s face tense. Fujita must be someone Manami has to watch out for.

What happened between Manami and Fujita?

“…Yes. That’s right”

“…I knew it. But I totally understand. Manami can’t get him out of my head either. I just… can’t get him out of my mind.”

Looking down in frustration, Manami mumbles helplessly.

“…really…”

Sou understands Manami’s words.

Then there is silence between Sou and Manami.

Both of them look down at the floor, not moving at all.

“…Did Fujita do something to you, Miyagi-san?”

Raising his eyes and gathering his courage, Sou breaks the silence.

In response to Sou’s voice, Manami slowly lifts her eyes.

“Yes, he did. He did something really terrible to me. It’s traumatic.”

Shaking her sad, wide eyes, Manami pours out the feelings that have been building up in her heart.

“I see….”

“I hear that too. It’s the same with Amanecchi, isn’t it? That b🬀🬀tard Fujita must’ve implanted a trauma in you, right? Otherwise, Amanecchi wouldn’t look so cornered.”

“…Yes… That’s right. What Miyagi-san says is right….”

Slightly looking away from Manami, Sou speaks.

He understands from Manami’s words what was shown in her posture and expression.

“It is so obvious. Which one of us should speak first? I think it will be easier if we let it out.”

“Maybe. But I don’t want to talk too deeply. It will bring back bad memories.”

“Manami feels the same way. So what should we do? Just tell each other briefly?”

“I think it’s good. Can I tell you first?”

“Okay, please.”

“Okay.”

He pauses and swallows his saliva to catch his breath.

Then, after he has measured the right time and is convinced, he looks up. Only Manami is in Sou’s eyes. Manami also looks nervous.

“I am. My relationship with my dearest friend was severed by Fujita.”

Frowning and wrinkling his forehead, Sou tells Manami solemnly. Just saying it makes him feel uncomfortable, and shivers run through his body.

“…I see. Amanecchi experienced something similar to Manami. From that psychopath, Fujita too.”

“Eh?!”

In response to Manami’s words, Sou lets out a puzzled voice. That’s how shocking Manami’s previous words were.

(Similar? So maybe Miyagi-san too?)

A hypothesis is born in Sou.

“Just like Amanecchi thinks.”

After meaningful words, Manami pauses.

“Manami lost my relationship with my most precious childhood friend because of Fujita.”

Meanwhile, the scene changes to the classroom of class 2-6.

Seira puts away the textbooks and notebooks she used in class and gets up from her seat to spend some time with Ishii.

She and Ishii had already talked about it during the break after third period, and this time they decided to meet in an empty classroom that she likes lately.

Wanting to get out of the uncomfortable class 2-6 as soon as possible, Seira quickly goes to the back door.

She carefully opens the door and steps out into the hallway.

There she bumps into someone.

“Hello! You’re Ito-san, right? I’d like to ask you something. Do you have a minute?”
