Chapter 48 Not as Promised?

Not as Promised?

“Hey. Is there someone named Maruyama now?”

15 minutes before morning class.

Four strong, well-built male students visit the science class.

The eyes of the students in the classroom are focused on Maruyama, who quietly takes his seat in response to one of the male students’ words.

Sensitive to the cold stares of his classmates, Maruyama’s shoulders jump, and he shrinks even more. Where was his arrogant attitude from before?

“You must be Maruyama. Can I borrow your face for a moment?”

The four male students, who can easily identify Maruyama from the looks of the students in the classroom, walk over to his seat. Then the four of them surround Maruyama’s seat. Maruyama looks like he’s trapped in an ant hell.

“Wh, what is this?”

Maruyama tries to act tough, but he is obviously scared. Proof of this is that he is restless as he sits in his seat, his eyes darting from one to the other of the male students busily surrounding him.

“We can’t afford to waste time. If we hesitate, morning classes will start soon. So can you come over with us for a minute?”

The leader grabs Maruyama’s hand roughly and tries to pull him out of the classroom.

“Hey!? What are you doing?! Don’t touch me without permission! Let go of my hand!!”

With a desperate look on his face, Maruyama screams and struggles.

However, he is helpless against the physically stronger male student and is dragged out of the classroom in a pathetic manner.

The other three male students follow the leader and drag Maruyama out of the classroom.

During this time, none of the classmates tried to help Maruyama.

This includes the three girls who are Maruyama’s cronies. They just watched from the sidelines.

Now the human instinct to avoid trouble kicks in.

Maruyama is dragged into the bathroom.

Further misfortunes continue; the bathroom is empty. This was the perfect situation for the four male students. They didn’t have to worry about unwanted attention.

“Hey, you’re the one who was the mastermind behind bullying Nakatani-san, right?”

The male student who dragged Maruyama to the back of the bathroom and stood in the middle spoke in a low voice.

The four male students who cornered Maruyama were clearly well-built.

Maruyama, the ace and number 4 of the baseball club, is stocky compared to most of his classmates, but he looks noticeably thinner compared to the four male students.

There is a big difference in their physiques.

“Wh-what is that? In the first place, who the hell are you guys?”

Trembling as if overcome by fear, Maruyama leans his back against the wall of the bathroom.

But there is no escape. The only way out is to open the window behind his back and jump out.

But their current location is on the second floor of the school building. It is hard to imagine that Maruyama would have the courage to risk his life by throwing himself off and jumping.

“We? We are Nakatani-san’s classmates who care for Nakatani-san and receive her healing every day. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Nod. Nod.

The other three male students nod in silence. Breathtakingly perfect.

“This is why. We can’t forgive you for hurting our precious classmate Nakatani-san. And for bullying her because you were angry that she refused your confession. Our hearts boil over.”

The boy in the middle clenches his fists.

“You know what’s going to happen now, don’t you? You’re not that stupid, are you?”

“Ha… Gaha. Guho. Gah!”
