Chapter 47 The Next Day

The Next Day

“Ah! They just arrived at school. Those are the three girls who bullied Nakatani-san from class 2–5.”

“It’s true. And the reason was jealousy. That’s the worst!”

Early the next morning.

When the three girls who bullied Mizuki enter their classroom, they are met with a flood of scornful looks from their classmates. The classmates then whispered to those nearby as if they were talking behind their backs.

“Eh… what’s wrong… what’s happening?”

One of the girls, who is the leader of the group, has just arrived at school and looks around the classroom, unable to hide her confusion.

The two cronies are even more confused than the leader girl.

They are clearly overwhelmed by the cold stares of their classmates. It’s a big difference to how they behaved in front of Mizuki. They shrink back like weak wild cats. That is the behavior of a weak person.

“O~~su.”

Then carrying his school bag in his right hand as if he would carry it on his back, Maruyama, the mastermind behind the bullying, confidently enters the school through the door at the back of the classroom and greets his classmates in a light tone.

Yet he doesn’t seem to have noticed anything out of the ordinary in class. For someone so positive, he might have a hard time guessing.

“Eh? What’s going on, guys? Stand at the back of the classroom.”

The three girls are gathered in one place, frightened and staring at the classroom floor, trying not to look around, and are silent. Maruyama calls out to them in surprise.

It is not clear what he thinks of the three girls.

On the surface, he may be hiding his feelings, but in reality, he may be angry with the three girls.

It can’t be helped. Even though he was the mastermind, it was definitely the three girls who told Sou who the culprit was and manipulated the three girls. On top of that, they even made the mistake of having an audio recording made. There are a lot of reasons to be angry.

“Oh, the mastermind is here. It seems that he gave various instructions to the three girls to carry out the bullying as revenge for Nakatani-san’s rejection of him.”

“He may be good-looking and the ace and number four of the baseball team, but there are things you can do and things you can’t do. Maybe he mistakenly thought he could get away with anything.”

“That’s possible. Otherwise, he wouldn’t b🬀lly someone out of revenge.”

“Also, Maruyama-kun was overbearing to people lower in the school caste than him. He really has a bad personality. He may have thought he was hiding it well, but it will be revealed.”

With Maruyama’s appearance, the whispering among the classmates accelerates even more. Conversations blaming Maruyama unfold regardless of gender.

“Wh-what’s going on? Why is the bullying thing spreading among them?”

Shaking up and down, unable to say anything more, Maruyama just stares at the chaotic scene he finds himself in next to the three girls. For Maruyama, all his classmates in front of him now seem like enemies.

Even though it’s his own class, he finds himself in an unfamiliar situation. The way his classmates react to him is also very different from yesterday.

Most of the classmates stare at Maruyama and the three girls as if they were filth.

In a short time, Maruyama and the three girls have lost the trust and respect of their classmates and many of the students at Seidou High School.

“Mizucchi, are you okay? Harucchi told me. I’m sorry I didn’t notice!”

At the same time when Maruyama entered his classroom.

Mizuki entered the classroom through the back door, and Manami, who had arrived earlier, noticed her and ran over to her. Her beautifully dyed blond bob hair shook from side to side in panic.

“Uh, yeah… Maybe. I think it might be okay now.”

Overwhelmed by Manami’s desperation, Mizuki replied hesitantly.

“What do you mean, maybe? Is there a chance that you’ll still be bullied? If so, tell Manami in detail! I’ll definitely stop it!!!”

Worried about her dear friend, Manami brings her face close to Mizuki’s nose and speaks quickly. Manami’s feelings were clear from her tone.

“Okay, okay, calm down, Manami. Mizuki must have problems with this. Speak to her a little slower.”

Haruki puts her hand on Manami’s right shoulder as if to calm her down and lightly admonishes her.

“Ah. Sorry. Maybe it was too much information. Haruki is right. I’ll calm down. Sorry, Mizucchi. I was being selfish.”

Haruki’s words bring Manami back to her senses, and she distances herself from Mizuki. Manami’s face, which was right in front of her, moves away from Mizuki.

“No… Don’t worry about it. More importantly, thank you for worrying about me….”

Mizuki still doesn’t talk to Manami like she usually does.

But she must’ve understood Manami’s feelings. So, she casually follows Manami’s earlier words and actions by thanking her.

“I-I don’t need any thanks. This is just…natural.”

Manami blushes slightly and looks away in embarrassment.

Is her tsundere side coming out?

“Poor Nakatani-san, it really was a disaster. If I remember correctly, Maruyama-kun from the next science class was the mastermind behind it, right?”

“Yes, yes. Maruyama-kun, I thought he was cool, so it’s a shame. He’s a mean, trashy guy. I mean, he bullied Nakatani-san out of revenge for being rejected, right? He’s nothing but trash.”

“How dare that trash b🬀lly Nakatani-san, who is our eye candy. I won’t forgive him. I won’t let him. I’m going to Maruyama’s class. He’s handsome, the ace of the baseball team, number 4, or whatever. I don’t care. It doesn’t matter. I can’t control my anger.”

“I agree. Let’s go, guys.”

“““Ouu!”””

The voices of several boys overlap as they leave the classroom together.

Like they said, they probably went to Maruyama’s science class.

“Wh-why… The information about my bullying is spreading so much. I don’t remember it ever spreading, though.”

Mizuki can’t help but hear the voices of her classmates. Everyone knows about her bullying, and she can’t hide her surprise. She witnesses an unbelievable scene.

“Well. I can tell you, but you have to ask Amane. I don’t think he’ll be so honest though….”

Touching her right cheek, Haruki tells Mizuki some meaningful words with a feeling of pride.

“Haruki-chan, what do you mean? The way you say it means that Amane-kun and Haruki-chan know everything. Why didn’t Haruki-chan tell me?”

“Yes. Manami is also curious.”

Manami takes advantage of Mizuki’s insistence; both of them seem to be concerned about the truth.

“What should I say? All because of him. I hesitate to tell you. It would be like taking the credit away from Amane. Though Amane probably wouldn’t mind.”

Without answering Mizuki and Manami’s request, Haruki stubbornly refuses to tell the truth. She slurs her words like a zipper.

“What’s that? That’s strange… Why don’t you tell me? I can’t accept it.”

Mizuki, the person involved in this case, frowned in a clear, dissatisfied manner.
