Chapter 26 Home

Home

“…Sorry to bother you.”

After school.

With a tense expression on her face, Haruki came to Sou’s house.

“P-Please.”

Even though he was the one who invited her, his expression was stiff. His face was tense as well. He didn’t feel anything special right after he invited her to hang out. But as classes started and time passed, he began to think that he might have acted too recklessly.

And inviting someone to hang out meant that he had to find a place to hang out. Without making any plans, Sou invited Haruki to hang out with him.

During class, Sou racked his brain to find a place to hang out. The first options that came to mind were an amusement park or a movie theater. Unfortunately, he ran out of money after spending it on a meal at a family restaurant with Haruki and the others.

He can’t borrow money from Haruki, who isn’t that close to him, just to hang out. Therefore, hanging out with money is impossible.

If that’s the case, his options for hanging out will be limited and narrow. Even if he chooses the park or the school as a place to hang out, there’s nothing to do. If he doesn’t have any money, it’s hard to hang out.

So Sou ended up choosing his home as a place to hang out.

It’s difficult to invite a member of the opposite s🬀x to your home. Sou understood that. However, after thinking about it and narrowing down the options, he decided that his home was the best place. So he chose his home as the place to hang out.

He leads Haruki through the front door into the living room.

In the living room, there is a TV, a sofa, a glass table, a chair made of the same material as the sofa, and so on.

“You can sit on the sofa and make yourself comfortable.”

Sou points to the sofa in the living room and asks Haruki to sit down.

“Yes. Thank you.”

After nodding her head once, Haruki sits down on the sofa, elegantly tucking her hand under her skirt so as not to show her insides.

After confirming that Haruki is like that, Sou reaches for the refrigerator.

He takes ice-cold tea from the fridge and pours his and Haruki’s portions into plastic cups.

Finally, he puts ice from the freezer into each cup, and the tea is ready.

“Sorry to keep you waiting! It’s been pretty hot outside, so I thought you might be thirsty. Here’s your tea!”

Sou goes over to Haruki and puts two cups on the glass table in front of the sofa. One for Sou and one for Haruki.

“Thanks. I’ll enjoy it.”

Smiling happily, Haruki takes the cup and takes a sip of the tea.

“Yup! It’s delicious!!”

With a satisfied sigh, Haruki puts the cup back on the table.

“That’s good. I’m relieved that you like the taste.”

Relieved, Sou sat down and leaned back on a chair near the glass table. He didn’t dare to sit next to Haruki.

““…””

For a while, there was silence. Both do not make eye contact and pour tea into their mouths from time to time.

Sou is nervous because he has to say something. He’s been facing this problem a lot lately. But he hasn’t been able to solve it.

Since this is his home, he can’t expect Haruki to be as open as before.

Anyway, he looks around. After all, this is his home. Therefore, there must be some material to make the conversation flow smoothly.

He moves his eyes back and forth, taking in the various objects in the living room.

(Ah! Maybe I can use that.)

What Sou discovered was a famous Japanese video game with a cable connected to the TV. He had no choice but to use it.

“Yakumo-san, would you like to play a game with me?”
