After a stormy break, the first period ends.
It’s time for another break. It’s only 10 minutes.
From the back of the classroom, Sou goes to the first floor of the school building. Seidou High School has four floors. The second-year classrooms are on the second floor.
Sou goes to the vending machine to buy a drink. The vending machine is right next to the entrance.

There was already someone standing in front of him. A back he had seen many times before.
The girl bends down and takes out the mineral water she bought.

A beautiful girl notices Sou in the blind spot behind her and turns around.
The beautiful girl was the person who appeared in Sou’s classroom earlier.

“Oh. I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Yakumo Haruki (八雲 遥 希). I’m in the class next to Amane’s.”
Haruki gives a brief introduction.
Sou’s class is 2–6. Since they are in the class next to each other, Haruki is in class 2–5.
“Please! Amane also came all the way here to buy something to drink, right?”
Haruki steps away from the vending machine. The front of the machine opens.
As usual, the machine emits a bright, brilliant blue light.
“…Well, thank you.”
From the front pocket of his uniform pants, Sou takes out his wallet. It’s a green folding wallet.
He takes out some coins. He takes out a total of 150 yen.
He puts the 150-yen coins into the vending machine, starting with the 100-yen coins. With a clink, the six coins go into the machine.
The buttons for the available products, "drinks,” light up blue. 80% of the buttons are already dark blue.
“I’ll take this one.”
He mumbles to himself and presses the button just below the barley tea.
With a clang and a thud, the machine spits out a 500-ml plastic bottle, just like before.
The sound of the falling plastic bottle definitely stimulates Sou’s eardrums. It is somehow pleasant to the ear.
Bending down, Sou takes a plastic bottle from the machine.
The temperature of the bottle, which is ice-cold, can be felt all over his hand. It is similar to the feeling of putting your hand in the refrigerator.
“Hey! It’s about time you cheered up. Haruki!”
Then a voice that Sou is not familiar with sounds in his ears. It’s a moderately deep, masculine, and handsome voice. It’s easy to imagine a girl falling in love with this voice. It was a good voice.
“Sigh… Have you forgotten what I told you directly? Ishii.”
Sluggishly, scratching her head, Haruki turns around. Her big eyes reflect a blond, long-haired, tall, and handsome man.
It was Ishii who cheated on Sou’s girlfriend.
He hates it, but even from Sou’s male point of view, Ishii is handsome. Anyone, no matter who they are, would recognize him as handsome.
“Of course, I remember. But to lose a beautiful girl like you as a friend. I can’t bear it. So please come back to me. Not only you but also the other members, have started to cut me off. Please! Let’s get back together and bring the other members back!”
Ishii rattles off with a desperate look on his face. He speaks a little too fast. His mind must not be at peace. He doesn’t have his usual relaxed attitude.

In stark contrast to Sou’s reaction, Haruki spat out in a cold tone. She narrowed her eyes and glared at Ishii.
“Well, I’ll excuse myself here. See you later, Amane.”
Her tone changes dramatically, and Haruki waves her hand lovingly at Sou.
As she says, she then leaves the place.
Sou and Ishii silently watch Haruki’s back. Then….
“Wait, wait a minute!”
When Haruki’s back starts to disappear, Ishii runs after her.
