Chapter 22 My Daughter Is a Precocious Girl at School

My Daughter Is a Precocious Girl at School

Ohai Academy, where Satsuki attends, is the best preparatory school in the area.

She is basically an excellent girl, and her test scores were amazing.

ā€œI like to study because my father praises me a lot.ā€

Ever since elementary school, whenever she got a good score, she would bring it up and say, ā€œDaddy, look!ā€ So I praised her well.

Satsuki likes to be praised. It seems she studied a lot because of that.

Back to the story.

That is why there are so many excellent students at Ohai Academy. And usually, families that emphasize studying also seem to have enthusiastic parents.

(Now, I didnā€™t realize how many parents came to todayā€™s class observation.)

When I arrived at the school and looked around, I saw a lot of people who looked like parents.

They were all walking around, looking at the printed information that the school had distributed. They were probably looking for their childrenā€™s classrooms.

Depending on the location, it is not uncommon for high school students not to have their parents come to class observation. However, my daughterā€™s school is an exception, and it seems to be the norm for parents to attend.

(I see. So parents can meet with the teacher after the class observation.)

There is one more thing I was wondering about.

After the class observation, there is a time for ā€œinterviewsā€. The class observation itself seems to be in the fourth period; after that, everyone can go straight home.

But parents who want to can apparently meet with the classroom teacher and discuss various topics.

(I would also like to have an interviewā€¦ I would like to say hello to the teacher.)

The school was very helpful to me.

I had a proper discussion with the school about Sashaā€™s mother and the fact that I didnā€™t have custody. The current peaceful situation has been achieved because of that.

Itā€™s partly because of the teacherā€™s cooperation that we are able to live our days in peace.

(Now, my daughterā€™s classroom is a 2ā€“3, if I remember correctly.)

I was looking at the printouts and trying to find her classroom as well.

Then, suddenly, I heard a voice.

ā€œDad (惑惑/Papa)ā€¦ no. Father (恊ēˆ¶ę§˜/Oto-sama), how are you?ā€

Itā€™s unusual for someone to use Oto-sama to call her father these days.

I wonder if there is an Ojou-sama here. Well, it seems that there are many children from wealthy families at Ohai Academy. Isnā€™t it strange that there is an Ojou-sama as well?

I thought so.

ā€œFather, itā€™s terrible of you to ignore me. I came all this way to pick you up.ā€

The hem of my shirt was pulled. Whatā€™s that? Arenā€™t you talking to me?

Hmm, it sounds similar to Satsukiā€™s voice, butā€¦ itā€™s probably not the same. Because Satsuki doesnā€™t call me ā€œFatherā€, sheā€™s always called me "Dad" since she was three.

Maybe she got the wrong person. A chubby uncle like me is the standard for middle-aged men. It is not surprising that someone mistook me for someone else.

ā€œSorry, I think youā€™ve got the wrong personā€¦.ā€

I turn around. I look at the girlā€™s face, and my eyes widen.

ā€œWrong person? I couldnā€™t possibly mistake you for my father.ā€

A girl with beautiful silver hair.

She looked like a doll. She was my daughter, as I had always seen her.

ā€œSatsuki?!ā€

When I froze in surprise, Satsuki put her face close to my ear. Then whispering to me.

ā€œDad, I came to pick you up, and you ignored me. Thatā€™s terrible.ā€

Her damp breath tickles me. But more than that, Satsukiā€™s attitude tickled me.

Why does this girl act like an Ojou-sama?

ā€œAh, because you were so different, I thought you were someone elseā€¦.ā€

ā€œNo, father. Iā€™m always like this.ā€

Youā€™re lying!

Youā€™re more of a naughty girl than elegantā€”like an Ojou-sama.

I only know Satsuki as a naughty girl. Thatā€™s why I thought it was funny to see Satsuki acting like an Ojou-sama.

(I see. So thatā€™s why Satsuki didnā€™t want me to see her at school.)

I finally understood why she was so shy.

Apparently, this girl wears a cat mask at school. She lives her everyday life in a very precocious way.

(Sheā€™s cute, butā€¦ a little funny.)

ā€œFufu.ā€

So, I canā€™t help but laugh a little.

Seeing this, Satsukiā€™s cheeks puffed up and her eyes filled with tears.

ā€œUgh, you promised not to laugh!ā€

ā€œN-no, Iā€™m not laughing! Iā€™m not laughing, so donā€™t cry, Satsuki. Your Ojou-sama-like skin is peeling off, you know?ā€

ā€œIā€™m not Ojou-sama! Iā€™m always like this!ā€

I couldnā€™t help but laugh as she unintentionally revealed her true self.

I was happy to see a different side of her.

I really found her to be an adorable girlā€”ā€”
