Mid-June. The day of class observation has finally come.

“Satsuki, I’m looking forward to today.”

In the morning, I serve Satsuki breakfast with a smile.

Satsuki puts her hands together and starts to eat.

I heard that the class observation would be in the third and fourth periods. I wanted to go to the third period right after the class started.

Satsuki had been trying to stop me for the past few days.

She tried all kinds of things to keep me from going to class observation, but in the end, I won.

It was a close call when she massaged my shoulders and said, “Dad, I’m going to give you a ticket for unlimited shoulder massages, so can you skip class observation?” But I resisted the temptation and said no.

I asked Satsuki many times why, but she stubbornly refused to tell me.

But today, she told me honestly.

“I-I mean… Dad can see me at school…!”

“Why?”

Immediately after her words, Satsuki covers her bright red face with her hands to hide it.

It seems that Satsuki would behave in an embarrassing way if I saw her at school.

If that’s the case, as a parent, I want to see her even more.

“It’s okay; Satsuki is cute no matter what kind of person she is. I won’t laugh at you.”

“I promise. I won’t laugh.”

I would never make fun of Satsuki.

I love Satsuki, no matter what she is. Of course, it is parental love.

“Then… I’ll put up with it. But don’t ever laugh at me!”

Satsuki seems to have finally accepted it.

Her face was still red, but she gave a little nod and squeezed my little finger.

“That’s a promise!”

We linked our little fingers and exchanged promises.

After that, Satsuki managed to keep her composure. She fidgeted the whole time, but when it was time to go to school, she left the house with heavy steps.

“Okay, I’m off now….”

“Yeah, have a good day. See you at school.”

“Ugh… No matter what, I’m happy to see my dad at school, but it’s still embarrassing. Idiot Dad! Handsome! Womanizer!”

In the end, Satsuki cried in anger and left the house.

My daughter is adorable, even when she is angry. She probably means to be serious, but her every word and action is so adorable that I can’t help but wince.
