Chapter 181 The Fateful Day

The Fateful Day

Manager Tachibana’s PoV

The next day.

Finally, today is the day to decide our fate.

Matsuda-san has done a great job. By now, most of the soccer club must be terrified. And all their hatred is directed at Ikenobu Eri.

And the outbreak will be tonight. The members of the soccer club will rush to Ikenobu Eri to silence her.

“All I have to do is get away with it… Only I can get away with it.”

I am like a witch. Because I am the one who has all the plans.

“This is a story that only I can write. The kind Aono Eiji would never be able to write it. It’s absolutely impossible for anyone but me. This is proof of the existence of my talent.”

I kept shouting this in my heart.

I opened the shoebox.

“Eh?”

There was a letter carefully sealed with wax.

The name of the addressee was not written. But I had a bad premonition.

I went to the Literature Club room, which should be empty.

I quickly broke the seal.

Dear Tachibana,

Please forgive my sudden letter.

I can’t show you any respect, so let me start with the main issue.

Please stop wasting time.

And confess everything.

“What’s this rude letter?! Who betrayed me? There can’t be any proof. My plan is perfect.”

I yelled and hit the pile of paperbacks on the table in the club room.

The book flew through the air, its pages torn and a mess.

You’re a very wise person. But you do not realize that you’re drowning in your wisdom.

Your wisdom should’ve been used to make someone else happy.

So, please atone for all your sins.

“I’m perfect. I made no mistakes, and I don’t need to atone for anything!!!”

I was angry and kept reading the letter.

I do not want you to make a mistake.

This is not an equal negotiation or request.

It’s a warning and an ultimatum.

If you ignore it, you are doomed.

“Sounds like a letter of doom and gloom. There’s no way you can stop me with something like this. Fine, if you’re going to go that far, catch me and show me. Before you do, I’ll reveal your true identity and have you socially erased like Ikenobu Eri and Amada Miyuki.”

Tearing the letter into shreds, I renew my resolve.

There is no evidence. So I won’t lose.

All students at this school are my enemies, and I will live with that. No one has ever mocked me like this before. I really don’t know what to do.

While I was burning with revenge, I heard a knocking sound coming from the entrance of the club room.

“Who the hell are you at a time like this!!?”

I opened the door, suspicious and cautious.

In front of the door was a man I knew well, and then the face of someone who shouldn’t be here.

“Eiji-kun? Why are you here?”

Aono Eiji. A former junior whose face I never wanted to see again.

An irregular who denies my history and moves outside of it on his own.

And my nemesis.

“Manager, I have something to say.”

The junior I knew was never this confident.

He always gave the impression of being kind and carefree.

What I see before me is a different person.

For a moment, I was afraid that he might be the one who sent the letter. That’s what I had in mind.

“Okay, come in.”

And so I greeted the fateful day…
