Chapter 69 Going to School Earlier

Going to School Earlier

“Nii-san, would you like to go to school earlier than usual starting tomorrow?”

“Why?”

“It wouldn’t be good for Nii-san to see Kanzaki Momoka in the morning, and I think it would just be a waste of time.”

It was yesterday that Yoka, who visited my room before going to bed, said something like that to me.

Is it not good for me to see Kanzaki Momoka? I guess Yoka told me that because she understood that I had a relationship with Kanzaki-san and what happened between us.

But I don’t understand why Yoka is worried about me. She shouldn’t worry about me. She shouldn’t have to.

So I’m sure the real reason is that she doesn’t want to waste her morning.

…Well, I thought it would be okay if Yoka went to school alone, but I thought there must be some reason of her own that I couldn’t understand, so I swallowed it without saying it out loud.

So today I left home 30 minutes earlier than usual and took the train to school. When we got off the train and went through the gate, I noticed that Kanzaki-san, who was always there, was not there.

As time goes by, more and more people come and before I know it, the classroom is getting crowded, but it has nothing to do with me, so I continue to study for the quiz.

But then I noticed a student standing in front of my seat.

I looked up and there she was, Kanzaki Momoka, looking a little impatient.

“Ah, umm. Good morning, Hiiragi-kun.”

“Good morning, Kanzaki-san.”

“You went to school earlier than usual today, didn’t you?”

“Yes, I did.”

There, the conversation stops and a few tens of seconds pass without either of us speaking.

I thought she wanted to talk to me about something.

But she didn’t seem to say anything, so I picked up a pencil to continue my study, and she spoke to me again.

“I couldn’t say it at the station. I’m sorry.”

She bowed her head to me as usual.

Why does she always apologize to me? I still don’t know. I think she did that because she doesn’t like me. That’s why I broke up with her.

I kept quiet because I did not know what to say.

“All I can do is apologize. I’m really sorry. I’m not going to ask you to forgive me, and I knew I wasn’t qualified to do that.”

“I see.”

“Well then… I’ll see you tomorrow.”

With that, Kanzaki-san returned to her seat, attracting the attention of the people around her…
