Remaining Affection

So, Hana-san and Ichika are going to live in my house.

When we were discussing various things, it seemed that Hana-san had not told Ichika about this yet.

However, Ichika said that she doesn’t mind living in this house, so I don’t think it’s a problem.

For now, the most important thing to worry about is——whether we can really let Hana-san and Ichika live in this house.

(In case you’re wondering, the house is supposed to be in my name as the owner…but I should tell my uncle as well.)

My uncle is the one who is currently acting as my guardian.

If there are any documents that require parental consent, he is the one who helps me.

He is someone who takes care of me in many other things, so I don’t want to do anything selfish.

“It may be a little strange for me to say this…but you should call your uncle.”

The answer was immediate. I talked to Hana-san and she gave me a strong push.

“If possible, I’d like to talk to him too. I’d like to say hello to him?”

“Yes. Well, I’ll explain the situation first, and then I’ll ask him some questions…I’ll go outside and make a phone call.”

I said this and went out into the yard. I called my uncle on my cell phone…and it connected right away.

Then I explained about Hana-san and Ichika.

I think it took about ten minutes. My uncle, who listened to the whole thing even though he was at work, said at the end.

After the conversation ended, I went back to Hana-san.

Unfortunately, my uncle had a meeting in the next few minutes, so I couldn’t connect him to Hana-san. He said he would like to greet her another day.

“Surprisingly, he allowed it easily…Takumi-kun, he trusts you so much!”

“Is that so? He’s a person who doesn’t interfere much…and he also said that if it’s Hana-san, it’s no problem at all.”

“Did he say that about me? Oh, I only talked to Takumi-kun’s uncle a little at the funeral…?”

“It seems that my uncle had heard a lot about you from my grandparents. He said, (You’re talking about Hana-chan in the neighborhood, right?) and he seemed to know exactly what was going on.”

“…Grandpa and Grandma.”

My uncle is my mom’s brother. And my grandparents are my mom’s parents, and my uncle is their son…so they talked about Hana-san, too.

“And…um, I think——please come here for a minute.”

I talked to my uncle about many things on the phone.

Among them…I heard a story that might solve Hana-san’s problem, so I went to the room where my grandparents’ altar was to see if the story was true.

“Takumi-kun? What’s going on? It looks like you already burned incense…”

“I give it every morning…So, hmm. Where?…is it here?”

A little drawer on the altar. I hadn’t looked in it before because I don’t usually open it…but my uncle told me there should be something in there so I opened it.

And what I found——was a bank book and a seal.

“Hana-san, do you remember the day of the funeral? It seems that my uncle tried to give this to you according to my grandparents’ will.”

This is a story I never knew.

It seems that my grandparents set aside the property they had for me, my uncle, and then Hana-san.

“…Ah.”

She looked at the bank book and finally remembered.

Hana-san rolled her eyes.

“You didn’t accept it then, so he had no choice but to put it in the drawer of the altar…So please use this one.”

When my uncle told me this story, I thought it was very timely.

After all, Hana-san seems to be in need of money, so I’m sure it will help her.

Hana-san…was really adored by my grandparents.

Maybe my grandparents thought of Hana-san as their daughter——like my late mother.

Hana-san was loved by my grandparents because of her loving and wonderful personality.

So I think Hana-san should receive this.

Because this is the “love” my grandparents left for Hana-san——
