Somehow I got to the location in time and managed to hold Amane-san’s hand before she hit Aoi-senpai. I forced her to back away from Aoi-senpai while holding her hand.
“Nii-san, I’ll help you too.”
“Thank you.”
Yoka, who came after me, said that and then held her as well.
“Sorry, I’m late.”
“Ah, no, thank you, Hiiragi-kun. Thank you for saving my life. But how did you find this place?”
“My sister Yoka told me.”
“I see.”
Aoi-senpai looked at Yoka.
“I’m sorry too, Shinomiya-san.”
“No, no. It’s okay. Thank you for coming, Senpai. Thanks to you, I was saved.”
Shinomiya-san smiled a bit painfully.
She must be hurting somewhere.
And when I looked at Akasaka-san, she was staring back at me…no, not at me, but at Yoka, with her pupils still dilated. Her eyes are like some kind of eyes filled with a thick cloud.
From far away, I hear the sound of sirens. I’m not sure how many cars are approaching.
Akasaka-san in front of me staggered to her feet, dragging her body as she approached me.
I could not move because I was holding Amane-san back, but Aoi-senpai stood up and looked at her.
Akasaka-san, who was walking toward me, was crawling toward Yoka, so Aoi-senpai caught her.
“It was all a lie, everything…”
“Eh… what?”
Yoka was startled, sounding scared.
Then Akasaka-san’s eyes widened and she let out a scream.
“This is all your fault! You must’ve known this would happen! You tricked me! Go to hell!”
“Hik, I’m scared. Please don’t yell at me. I’m scared, Akasaka-san.”
“Don’t be silly!”
“I’m scared, Nii-san.”
Akasaka-san struggled to get away from Aoi-senpai, and Yoka had a frightened look on her face.
I don’t know what to say or what’s right. Why is Akasaka-san angry?
“Akasaka-san, calm down.”
“Hiiragi-kun, Hiiragi-kun, that girl. It’s all her fault!”
Akasaka-san said that to me like she was yelling at me.
Is it all Yoka’s fault? I don’t know what she means. Yoka shouldn’t have anything to do with it.
While I was thinking about that, the police and Sachi-san arrived.
“Saya, Aoi-chan, Hiiragi-kun!”
Sachi-san ran over and burst into tears.
The police grabbed Amane-san, whom Yoka and I were holding back, and took her away.
“Hiiragi-kun, Hiiragi-kun. It’s all a lie… I did it for you…”
And Akasaka-san tried to approach me and said so. I could feel something in her eyes, like madness.
What should I say to her? She did it for me?
Why? I don’t know.
But the fact that she made false accusations against me back then, and the fact that she was with Amane-san, hurt Shinomiya-san and Aoi-senpai today. So.
“…I don’t know.”
I can only answer like that. But, when I say that, when I look into her eyes while she’s being taken away, her face changes to a look of despair.
Why did she make that face?
Was that the right thing to say?
I don’t know…
