Chapter 163 Manager Tachibana's Bad Move

Manager Tachibana’s Bad Move

Takayanagi’s PoV

I finally got a chance to talk to the main suspect.

The earlier altercation with Aono-kun increased my suspicions. My intuition is that Tachibana-san is black.

She was jealous of Aono-kun’s talent for writing novels and made Aono-kun break up with his girlfriend, Amada Miyuki.

It’s easy to make that hypothesis.

No, this is just my intuition. But I think most of my intuitions have been right since my days as a shogi player. A shogi master I respect once told me that my intuition was 80% correct.

If my intuition is right, it explains everything…

How did Kondo-kun and Amada-san meet… And why does he b🬀lly Aono-kun…

It all started with this female student’s jealousy.

Right now, we only have circumstantial evidence, but if the story is that consistent, it’s as close to the truth as we can get.

Of course, if it’s based on intuition alone, there is a high chance of misinterpreting a lie as the truth. That’s why many students’ futures have been distorted by this incident; they’ve been consumed by false rumors. That’s why we should never assume until we have convincing evidence…

“I don’t want to doubt the members of the club, but there are…2 people…”

In response to my question, Tachibana-san in front of me was about to tell me, trying to become a whistleblower and sacrifice her two scapegoats…

I tried to dig deeper into the information…

“Two?”

“Yes. I can’t tell you their names. But I have reasons…”

She continued, posing as the thoughtful manager of the literature club.

“Let us hear it…”

“Yes, the first one is the girl who was also rumored to be dating Kondo-kun. She was in the same class as Amada-san and seemed to have some sort of relationship with her. If Kondo-kun and Amada-san were connected through her, that would be pretty convincing…”

She explained in a reasonable manner.

“Indeed. What about the other one?”

I dare to pretend to agree.

I pretended to agree with her so that she would continue to dig her own grave.

“The other one is a junior who suddenly stopped coming to the club after this bullying problem. Maybe she suddenly stopped coming because she had something to feel guilty about…”

Oh yeah, that one explanation. It seems plausible at first, but it’s also contradictory. After all, she was only a high school student.

“I see. Well, we will investigate further. Thank you for the information, even though you’re not feeling well… We apologize and thank you.”

She may have been under the illusion that she had escaped. She looked a little happy.

But, Tachibana-san. You’re too suspicious. Why are you the only one who knows this information? Why didn’t the rest of the Literature Club tell us? It’s obviously unnatural, isn’t it?

That’s your bad move. It’s too unnatural as if you’re leading us on, as if you’re holding this information as a trump card. That’s what my intuition as a shogi player tells me…
