After the Incident

About two weeks have passed since then.

Shortly after the incident, Akasaka-san and Amane Kazusa were taken to the police station.

Sachi-san took me, Aoi-senpai, and Shinomiya-san to the hospital. Yoka assured the police that she was fine and explained the situation as best she could. I thought about accompanying her, but she told me that I should go to the hospital, so I decided to go with Aoi-senpai and the others.

Shinomiya-san had a bruise on her stomach, and Aoi-senpai had a cut on the inside of her mouth, and her cheek was swollen. I wasn’t hurt, so, of course, I’m fine.

After a day had passed, myself, Aoi-senpai, and Shinomiya-san were questioned by the police.

I didn’t have much to say because I didn’t know the situation very well, but Shinomiya-san and Aoi-senpai probably had a lot to say because they knew the general situation.

I heard that that day, after Shinomiya-san and we parted, she met Akasaka-san, and she told Shinomiya-san to follow her because she had something to discuss regarding me, Shinomiya-san, and Aoi-senpai.

While Akasaka-san was talking to Shinomiya-san, Amane Kazusa tried to attack Shinomiya-san, and she ran away as fast as she could and hid in an abandoned building near the school.

Why was Amane Kazusa there, what was she trying to do, and what did Akasaka-san want to discuss with her? Shinomiya-san and Aoi-senpai seemed to know, but they told me it was better if I didn’t, so I didn’t ask them in detail.

Amane Kazusa seems to have been charged with assault and various other crimes, and she will not be involved with Shinomiya-san again unless she is released from custody.

“Hiiragi-senpai, once again, I’m really sorry for getting you involved.”

“It’s okay. Besides, it was me who stuck my neck out this time. There is no need for you to apologize, Shinomiya-san. And since Akasaka-san is also involved, although I don’t know the details, it seems that I was involved as well. I’m also sorry.”

“Let us finish this conversation for now. Even though we all gathered at Shinomiya-san’s house, talking about such things makes me feel gloomy.”

“I see. Well… why don’t we take a look at this?”

Saying that Shinomiya-san took out her tablet and showed me a movie that was available on a certain famous streaming service.

“I’m in.”

“I’m in, too, if it’s okay with you two.”

“Well, let’s watch it now.”

After that, two hours passed, and while I was watching the movie in a daze, Shinomiya-san was shedding tears, and Aoi-senpai had moist eyes as well.

The movie ended happily.

“It was so good. I cried unconsciously.”

“Yes, I almost cried too.”

That’s what the girls said.

… I wonder if there will come a day when I can feel like that. Will the day come when I can shed tears?

“How was it, Hiiragi-kun?”

“I think it was a good movie.”

“I see. Then I’m glad.”

Aoi-senpai smiled happily.
