Kondo Starts Crying and Classmates Are Upset
Lawyer Sawabe’s PoV
It was a serious situation. I immediately requested a meeting with Seiji Kondo as his lawyer.
I asked him what was going on with the police.
“Sawabe-san, get me out of here. I don’t want to be arrested.”
He used to be so confident, but now he looked exhausted and cried pitifully through the glass while I listened to him swear in my heart.
“Calm down. Tell me what happened first.”
I calmed him down desperately and asked him about his condition. …
Apparently, the police came to his house to question him about the situation regarding the beating of a junior student. So he got scared and ran away.
To make matters worse, he threw things at the officers as he ran down the alley! Presumably, there was no search warrant at the time the police came to the house and they were just there to ask what was going on. At worst, it was just a voluntary accompaniment. Why did he make such a big deal out of it? If he had done nothing, he might still be free to enjoy his life now. How could we cover it up after it became such a big deal? Really…
The police must’ve decided that the matter had become so big that they were afraid he might run away again. I guess they arrested him for disturbing the peace because he was throwing things at them.
“Listen, Seiji-kun. Please don’t do anything. No matter what the police say, please keep your mouth shut.”
That’s all I can say for this spoiled idiot.
“But I’m so scared. Please help me, Sawabe-san. My Soccer Career…”
It’s exhausting. How can I control such an idiot kid?
“Hey, Sawabe-san, Sawabe-san… I can play soccer again, can’t I? Please tell me I can. I’m going to be a soccer player, and I’m going to surprise the world … with my soccer talent.”
Then he started crying nonstop.
I don’t know what more I can do for this high school boy who looks more like a baby than I’ve ever seen. What about his soccer, really?
I hold my head and feel like I’m going to cry, too.
Miyuki’s PoV
I returned from the infirmary to the classroom. Sensei told me to stay home until the punishment was decided. She also told me that the punishment would be severe.
When I returned to the classroom in despair, my friend Murata Ritsu approached me.
“Hey, Miyuki. Are you hiding something? …Earlier, Kondo-senpai had been taken away by the police at the school gate. Hey, Miyuki. That’s strange, isn’t it? Because you were hurt by Aono-kun, weren’t you? And Kondo-senpai was the one who saved you, right?”
Ritsu looked a bit panicked.
The other students are looking at me as well.
As if they were looking at a sinner. The same thing they did to Eiji comes back to me. I trembled and was on the verge of crying.
Did Eiji have to endure so much hostility? I can’t believe how scary this is …
“Sorry.”
That was the voice you could barely hear.
“Sorry? What the hell, Miyuki? You betrayed us. I trusted you because you are always nice and have good grades. We could be punished as well, you know?”
When I heard those cold words, I realized what a heavy sin I had committed. I knew it was irrevocable.
“I am sorry. I betrayed Eiji. I was afraid of being found out, so I lied to everyone.”
All I could do was apologize.
I don’t even know how to make amends.
A hopeless and cold atmosphere spread in the classroom.
Kondo Father’s PoV
“Boss. I found out who filed the damage report. It was most likely the mother of a student named Eiji Aono. The student’s family owns a restaurant called Kitchen Aono in front of the station.”
I was contacted by the secretary I had sent to the school to gather information.
The excellent secretary also sent the location of the restaurant.
Now I can go there and talk to them directly.
Don’t worry, there is nothing that money can’t buy.
I will do whatever it takes to solve this case.
It was the only way I could survive.
