Furious Ichijo Ai
Ai’ PoV
“Ojou-sama, here is the report you requested.”
In the living room, I received a document from Kuroi.
It seemed the report I had commissioned from the private detective agency was finally ready.
I read through a few pages and felt sick to my stomach from the horrifying contents.
I hadn’t dared to ask Senpai about what had happened. It was clear it would be difficult for him to speak about it, and he didn’t even want to confide in his own mother. If I tried to ask him outright, I feared it might deepen the wounds in his heart even further.
So, I had asked Kuroi to investigate what had happened to Senpai.
At first, I thought it was just a typical love affair. But it turned out to be something far more sinister.
Amada Miyuki seemed to have cheated on Aono Eiji, her supposed boyfriend. She had been secretly meeting Kondo, a senior on the soccer club (whose parent is a city councilman and influential manager of a local general contractor). Several others appeared to be involved as well.
The exact details of this love triangle are unclear. However, it seems likely that something happened on Aono Eiji’s birthday, as rumors of him violently attacking Amada Miyuki started circulating on SNS immediately after. Before that day, there hadn’t been any negative posts about him.
Most of the SNS accounts spreading these rumors were secret accounts, but some were normal. Based on their profile pictures and other details, it could be concluded that many belonged to soccer club members.
Additionally, the simultaneous spread of this information and the reactions from other students the day after his birthday strongly suggest that a group conspired to deliberately ruin Aono Eiji’s reputation.
The detective simply presented the facts, but one deduction seemed unavoidable.
Considering Eiji-senpai’s character, it was almost impossible to believe he had been violent toward Amada-san. Furthermore, the actions of the soccer club appeared highly suspicious.
The mastermind was most likely Kondo from the soccer club. If I recall correctly, he was the strange senior who had tried to hit on me during the first semester.
Kondo and Amada-san’s affair was likely exposed on Aono’s birthday.
To protect themselves, they spread rumors accusing Eiji-senpai of abusing her, isolating him socially.
If this hypothesis is true, how despicable can they be?
I remember someone saying that they had been dating since last winter. But, on his first birthday as her boyfriend, he not only endured the cruel discovery of his girlfriend’s betrayal but also faced false accusations that could have erased him socially.
“This is so cruel.”
I suddenly understood why he had come to the rooftop the first day we met.
Ugh! My blood boiled with anger toward those who had driven such a kind man to despair.
“No matter what, trampling on someone’s kindness is inexcusable.”
True, when you’re not married, there’s less obligation to another person.
But someone as kind as Senpai doesn’t deserve to be treated this way.
It is unforgivable!
You are unforgivable! How could they push someone to the point of considering s🬀🬀cide?
The report’s contents were so shocking that I felt physically ill.
Yet even amidst all this horror, my admiration and love for Senpai only deepened.
“Aono Eiji-senpai, you’re kind to the very end.”
Haa… I need some fresh air.
I stopped Kuroi, who looked concerned, and went to a nearby park alone. I had refused his offer to accompany me, though I knew he would probably follow me discreetly.
After a short walk surrounded by greenery, I managed to calm down.
“Senpai has already lost so much. If there’s anything I can do to make up for it, even a little…”
If I could, I’d want to restore everything he’s lost. But that thought felt arrogant and presumptuous.
As for Amada Miyuki and Kondo from the soccer club, I cannot forgive them!
As I walked, lost in these thoughts, something unexpected happened.
A pale, beautiful woman stumbled unsteadily in front of me. I recognized her face. While I didn’t know her personally, she was famous as a stunning Senpai—and she was the woman mentioned in the report.
“Ichijo—Ai?”
She seemed to recognize me too. Her face was as pale as a ghost.
“Amada Miyuki…”
For the first time, we came face to face.
