Chapter 61 Scumbag's Frustration

Scumbag’s Frustration

Kondo’s PoV

“Why is everyone so…selfish!? They trust others more than they trust me. Unforgivable!!!”

Various objects lie scattered across the room after my furious rampage. Even my treasured junior high trophy is shattered. Damn, damn, damn! You bastards!!

“Haha. Shit, I wish all those idiots on the university soccer team, the club members, and Miyuki would just die!”

I need to vent this anger. Who should I call…?

With Miyuki out of the picture, the options are Eri, the Literature Club manager, or my juniors.

No, not the manager. She’s untouchable for now. If I show her any weakness, who knows what she’ll do.

Should I call Eri?

No, that woman’s a hassle too. I’d rather keep my distance from her for now…

“Ugh, guess I’ll just relieve my stress by spreading bad rumors about Aono using my secret account.”

It’s such a thrill for the king to toy with his subjects. Aono’s like a slave—weak and incapable of protecting his woman.

With that in mind, I open SNS. Until recently, it had been filled with posts badmouthing Aono.

But…

[Breaking News: Aono Eiji and Ichijo Ai spotted dating yesterday.]

[Details, please!!!]

[I was shopping near the station yesterday and saw them leaving a fancy café together.]

[I also saw them heading to a movie.]

[They’re definitely dating!]

[If Ichijo-san is so strict with guys, why is she dating Aono, who has such a bad reputation?]

[A classmate of Ichijo-san told me she seems to like him a lot. They’re apparently getting close.]

[If Ichijo-san likes him so much, there must be more to Aono than we thought.]

[Are the rumors about Aono even true? All we have is one suspicious photo. What if the rumors are false?]

[I thought it was strange from the beginning. Aono-kun and I were in the same class last year, and he’s genuinely nice—not the type to hurt anyone.]

[Hmm, I don’t know anymore.]

Before I realized it, the tide had turned. Why? Is Ichijo Ai’s credibility really that strong? She’s just a first-year! I used reports from the soccer team to fuel the rumors, but her influence outweighs our numbers?

No, it’s not over. Not yet.

[Listen up, everyone. Don’t be fooled. This Ichijo Ai might be a dangerous woman.]

Using my anonymous account, I inject myself into the SNS discussions.

[Wow, you’re pathetic LOL.]

[Probably some loser who got dumped by Ichijo-san and is salty about it. Ignore him.]

[If we dig into the sources of these rumors, we might uncover something shady.]

Damn it! They kicked me out.

Shit, shit, shit. Why doesn’t anyone trust me? I’m the king of this school.

Frustrated, I hurl my phone at the window. The glass shatters, and the phone crashes to the floor.

“Damn it!”

I rush outside to retrieve it. The phone is so damaged it won’t even turn on.

Now I can’t contact anyone. Where am I supposed to channel all this anger? Everyone’s such a damn annoyance. They’re making this genius miserable.

“Damn it all! I’m so pissed!!!”

I feel the isolation closing in, which only fuels my frustration.

Fire Station

“We received a video from the police of the student couple everyone’s been talking about.”

I nod as my subordinate reports.

“Good work. Thank you. Students these days are amazing. They handled the situation so well. We adults could learn from them.”

“That’s true, Chief. I heard they left without even giving their names. They were like angels. Makes me feel insecure—back in my school days, I was just a lazy kid who did club activities to pass the time, ate ramen with friends, and barely studied.”

I laugh at my subordinate’s self-deprecating comment. I get where he’s coming from—it’s humbling.

“What’s even more surprising is that the person who collapsed was Yamada-san, a retired prefectural councilor. He was such a respected figure that even council members hesitated to speak against him.”

Thanks to this, we’ve been tasked with finding the students for sure. I want to succeed—it could set a great example.

“Wow, such an influential person.”

“Yes, and those students are truly exceptional.”

“Alright, let’s edit the video to blur their faces and use SNS to gather information. Hopefully, we’ll find something.”

My subordinate is skilled with computers, so this task is in good hands.

I wonder how much traction the post will gain. Hopefully, we’ll know something soon…

Little did I know at the time that the SNS post would go viral within hours, garnering hundreds of thousands of responses.
