The day after I called an ambulance for an elderly man, I received a call from a woman claiming to be his family member. Just in case, I reported it to the police, who seemed to be acting as intermediaries.
Iām Gourmet Uncle, a foodie streamer, and my channel has a community-based style. Apparently, even police officers watch my videos sometimes. After everything was resolved that day, I ended up chatting with one of them.
āOh, thanks for the other day? No, no, I didnāt do much. I was just filming for my hobby when Grandpa suddenly collapsed. While I panicked, a student couple came to help. All I did was call an ambulanceā¦ What? The fire department wants to give me an award? No, no, the students and the nurse deserve itā¦ What? The students left without saying anything?ā
Honestly, I didnāt do enough to be called a hero. It would feel like stealing credit from them.
āYes, I have a video from that day. Itās a bit blurry because I was running in a hurry, but their faces are visible. Still, you canāt post minorsā faces online, right?ā
The woman on the phone suggested posting it on SNS to find the students, but my conscience said otherwise. Maybe they didnāt want attentionā¦
āSorry about that. If you want to add a mosaic and post it, you should probably consult the police.ā
Honestly, I thought they deserved recognition for their bravery.
All credit goes to their quick actions in that moment.
Still, the boyās face looked oddly familiar.
Where had I seen him before? I couldnāt remember.
In any case, I decided to hand over the video to the police. Iād already shared a video of a fight from another day with them. Hopefully, this footage would be useful too.
āOh, right. Itās September now, and Kitchen Aonoās fried oysters are back on the menu. Their tartar sauce is amazing. Maybe Iāll grab lunch there today.ā
Endoās PoV
I had a dream. It was an old memory of me and Eri.
We were in kindergarten, laughing and having fun.
āWhen I grow up, Iāll be Endoās wife,ā she said.
That promise was never fulfilled. Now, seeing my beloved childhood friend, all I felt was hatred.
I woke up, haunted by her innocent smile.
āThat was the worst dream Iāve ever had.ā
The past, which should have been precious, had been stolen from me. All I had left was anger toward the man who took her, toward his accomplices, and even toward Eriā¦
It was only five in the morning.
Yesterday was eventfulāIād declared war on Kondo. But it was a necessary move.
Judging by his behavior, heās aggressive on offense but weak on defense. His pride makes him easy to provoke; he loses his temper and acts rashly.
Thatās what makes him so easy to manipulate.
Iād already started sowing discord between him and the soccer club.
Soon, someone from the team would betray him.
But my revenge wouldnāt end with Kondoās downfallāI wanted to drag him to hell.
Thatās why I contacted Amada. At the very least, I hoped it would shatter their trust and spark her guilt. Of course, I didnāt trust cheating women.
āIf I can isolate Kondo from the soccer club and Amada Miyuki, itāll create contradictions in the schoolās investigation and silence them.ā
Yesterdayās declaration of war was a big risk, but the potential payoff was worth it. Kondo, humiliated by the soccer team, would likely seek solace in his women.
He might call Amada, who had seen the photo, leading to a fight between them.
If that happened, it would be to my advantage. Perhaps heād even contact Eri, fueling Amadaās hatred further.
Eventually, Eri and Amada might confront each other, leaving Kondo with nowhere to turn.
Heād be abandoned by the soccer club, rejected by the women, and forced to rely on āsomeone.ā Someone else orchestrating this chaos.

Sitting in my room, I made notes in my notebook, deep in thought.
Even on my day off, Aonoās case occupied my mind.
To restore his honor, the truth needed to come out soon. Iād gathered evidence, but I needed something conclusive.
āSomething about this case doesnāt sit right.ā
Specifically, Kondo.
He was known for his flings and his interest in women who were already taken. But in todayās world of free love, he couldnāt be punished unless he was married.
Thatās why the school was struggling to take actionā¦
But why had he specifically targeted Aono for direct bullying? Kondo, the coward, had never crossed that line before.
It didnāt add up.
As wild as it sounded, I began to form a hypothesis.
āCould there be someone behind the scenes, pushing Kondo into this? Damn, I canāt think clearly.ā
Maybe it was hunger making me irritable.
I decided to eat out. I remembered a ramen shop introduced by Uncle Gourmet near the train station. A change of pace might help.
I opened Uncle Gourmetās channel to find the video with the shopās name.
[Hello, today Iām live streaming again. While walking around the city and shooting for my next project, I was surprised to witness a Grandpa suddenly collapse in front of me. I was unsure of what to do, but a student couple nearby quickly began life-saving measures. It was incredible to witness. All I could do was call for an ambulance to help. Their quick thinking and actions were truly remarkable, werenāt they? Recently, Iāve noticed that many unexpected events occur while I walk around town. Last week, during a collaborative video shoot, I encountered a fight. It seemed related to a romantic relationship, and a boy was being beaten up. I tried to approach him, but he ran away. Someone called the police, but none of the other parties involved were there by the time they arrived.]
