Arrested
Kondo’s PoV
“Phew.”
It was almost noon when I woke up.
Looks like I’ll be skipping school. Well, that’s fine. I’ve already received college invitations. Missing one day won’t change anything.
It’s about time I dumped this woman. But she’s enjoyable enough that I can keep her around for a little while longer.
Some girls, like Plaything #1 from junior high, were even more persistent. Even after I dumped her, she followed me all the way to high school. She was almost a stalker. But when I treated her nicely and gave her a bit of hope, she became someone who’d come whenever I called. So, I kept her around for a while too.
A king deserves all kinds of women, doesn’t he?
Speaking of which, that Aono guy seems to have taken a liking to Ichijo Ai. That pisses me off. He’s like a pebble in the king’s path. I’ll beat him up some more and drive him out of school as soon as possible. Takayanagi and the others might say something, but I can talk my way out of it like I always do.
He was dumped by Miyuki—who’s next? If Ichijo dumps him too, Aono will never recover. That’s not a bad scenario either. The school idol could be mine.
“Senpai, I love you. I’ll always be with you.”
Miyuki mumbled in her sleep, smiling beside me. I patted her head.
When I did, her smile grew even brighter.
People say she’s popular because of her innocent image. If that’s true, it might be fun to ruin it. Maybe I’ll put some bold makeup on her and make her completely my type. That way, I can shatter the romantic fantasies of all the guys who like her. She may not like it, but once I make her totally dependent on me, I can control her by threatening to break up.
And then, when no one’s left to take her side, I’ll dump her. That’s the best.
With a dark fire burning inside me, I hugged this foolish girl.
Later
“We skipped school, didn’t we?”
It was past noon when we left the hotel. Despite her usual honor-student demeanor, Miyuki looked a little guilty.
“Are you okay? You stayed out all night.”
“I’m fine. I told my parents I was at a friend’s house.”
Something about her glassy eyes made me feel uneasy.
“Well, if you say so. School’s almost over anyway. Let’s head home.”
The frustration I’d felt yesterday had mostly subsided after skipping a day.
After all, playing with women is the best stress reliever.
As we stepped out of the hotel, a car suddenly pulled up in front of us.
It was a police car.
“What!?”
Miyuki screamed instinctively.
I froze, unable to process what was happening.
The car window rolled down slowly, revealing a young policeman with a cold smile. His mouth curved upwards, but his eyes were sharp and scrutinizing.
“Good afternoon. We received a report that two high school students were staying at a hotel that doesn’t allow minors. Do you know about the Entertainment District Act? This establishment prohibits anyone under 18. Could you show us some ID?”
We both froze in fear. Miyuki trembled, her face pale.
“What should we do? Are we going to be arrested?” she whispered, her voice shaking.
Her words only heightened my panic.
Who called the police? We weren’t even in uniform. In civilian clothes, we could pass for college students. This had to be someone who recognized us…
Who set me up?
What should I do? If I don’t act, they’ll take us into custody. My reputation will be destroyed. I can’t let that happen.
There’s only one option left.
I have to run.
But Miyuki will slow me down. Should I leave her behind?
If I take her with me, the police will catch us anyway. What now?
“Hey, what’s wrong? Why aren’t you answering? Are you in high school?”
Two officers stepped out of the car and approached us. This was my only chance.
“Run, Miyuki!”
I bolted toward the station, leaving Miyuki behind. One officer caught her immediately, while the other chased after me.
Damn it, how did this happen? I—
My foot caught on something, and I fell hard. Pain shot through me.
The young officer closed in and grabbed me.
“Damn it, let go of me! Let go!” I writhed on the ground in despair.
Caller’s PoV
I watched everything unfold from a nearby hamburger stand.
Seeing Kondo sprawled on the ground like a pathetic insect made the wait worthwhile. Skipping school to watch this was completely worth it.
Now those two are being arrested. But this isn’t enough.
According to what I read online, the police usually don’t contact schools when a minor is arrested. But in special cases, like when parents can’t be reached, they might notify the school.
My revenge won’t be complete if the school doesn’t hear about this.
That’s where the photos come in. The ones proving everything. The picture of those two entering the hotel yesterday is my trump card.
And now, this scene playing out in front of me—the sight of Kondo squirming helplessly as the officers subdued him—I captured it all with my phone.
“Now it’s your turn. Let’s see how you handle this, ‘King’ of the soccer club.”
