“Skipping school? Do you understand the current situation?”
I was in a desperate situation and what came out was a ridiculous suggestion like “Let’s skip school together,” I felt sorry for myself.
I could've come up with a better suggestion, but we’re both soaking wet, and it’s a terrible mess.
“I mean, it can’t be helped. I came here thinking I was going to die, but I never thought I’d be the one to stop my junior from committing s🬀🬀cide.”
The number one idol sat down on the spot, deflated. For now, the worst seems to be over.
She said, “I feel like an idiot,” and started laughing. I started laughing as well.
“Hey, let’s go back.”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
We were both in a terrible situation, but until the end, we couldn’t stop laughing.
“Here, use this for now.”
I handed her the towel that was in my bag.
“Eh, but….”
Let’s start with you. Her eyes were telling me to use it first. But I knew that if I used the towel first, it would absorb too much water and Ichijo-san wouldn’t be able to use it anymore.
“It’s okay. Use this.”
To be honest, I was on the verge of distrusting women after the Miyuki incident, but I can be honest with this junior, who have become my comrade-in-arm.
“Thank you. But please don’t stare at me too much.”
I can’t help it. The rain had soaked her summer clothes and I could see what was underneath. The pale pink camisole under her shirt was completely transparent. I’ve been thinking for a while that it’s wrong to look at her, but my male instinct makes me take a quick look.
“Senpai, that’s s🬀🬀ual harassment.”
“I’m sorry.”
She gets a little grumpy, but takes my towel and wipes herself down.
Her shiny, glamorous body looked like an angel that had come down to earth. To put it simply, she was beautiful.
“So, what are you going to do now? I mean, you invited me to skip school, so you must have some kind of plan. Well, I only have morning classes today anyway, so I have the afternoon off.”
I only have about half an hour left to skip.
“Haha, we’ve become uncool brats.”
I laughed bitterly and she laughed too. Since some time ago, she had been showing a very sad expression. From what I remember, this junior was always such a beautiful girl who was tense and intimidating. I heard that some of my classmates had confessed to her. …
“Why do you think you can date someone you don’t know?”
“Do you know what it feels like when someone confesses to you for the first time? You don’t, do you? Then I’ll tell you. Honestly, I feel nothing but fear.”
“After all, you’re only interested in my appearance and status, aren’t you? I read the letter, but in the end, that’s all it said, right? It hurts to read such a thing.”
I’ve heard of something about her like….
Broken Heart Maker.
So I was honestly surprised that my suggestion was accepted so easily. I thought I would get a lot of ridicule.
“I know it’s not enough, but here’s something in return.”
She handed me a clean handkerchief. She seemed worried that I wouldn't be able to use the towel. I gratefully accepted.
After I’ve calmed down, I realize that I’m hungry. I’m with her now. So I can’t eat alone.
I broke the onigiri in half and gave it to her. It had tuna mayo inside. Even though I had no idea what food tasted like, I was able to eat it surprisingly well.
“It’s delicious. It’s tuna, isn’t it? Is it tuna with mayonnaise?”
She sounded like a young lady.
“Oh, I’ve never had tuna before. It’s a standard onigiri in convenience stores, tuna mayo.”
“I’ve never had that. I didn’t know people ate such delicious food.”
She’s obviously a very nice young lady.
“There are many other delicious foods out there. It would be a pity to die without knowing them.”
“More delicious food? When you say that, it makes me want to try it.”
The sparkle in her eyes grew stronger. She seems to have a very curious nature. This young lady.
But I only brought one onigiri. I didn’t have much of an appetite, so I only prepared the bare minimum for lunch. Of course, even a girl wouldn’t be satisfied with half an onigiri.
So if we are going to skip school, how about we go there?
“Hey, Ichijo-san. Wanna come over to my place?”
“Huh?”
Miyuki’s PoV
Eiji hadn’t returned to the class yet.
To avoid being discovered by the teacher, those who had scribbled on his desk quickly erased it. However, they couldn't erase it completely because they had written it with an oil-based pen. Eiji’s lightly stained desk was reflected in my eyes.
He probably quit school. Because of me. The fear that never goes away. The fear of ruining the lives of the people I care the most because I put my own feelings first.
What should I do, what should I do, what should I do?
I didn’t think Kondo-senpai would spread such rumors. It’s not my fault. It’s not my fault. If I apologize, I’m sure he will forgive me.
The last hour of the morning class was coming to an end. Suddenly, I looked down and saw Eiji’s figure.
I was helplessly happy to find him, but soon despair overcame me.
Behind him was a girl I didn't recognize. They were running toward the school gate, holding hands in a friendly manner. Like heroes in a movie.
Why? Why? Why?
I don’t know, jealousy burned in my head.
His hand, which should be mine alone, is pointing at a girl who's not me.
What? Why?
I told him that I broke up with him back then, but I forgot because the flames of jealousy kept burning.
Suddenly, my tears came pouring down and I banged my head on the table to hide them.
Who’s that thieving cat?
